• Literal genocide going on in Gaza and the world is looking away.
• The level of meat eating in the world and the cruelty that goes with that.
• A standing ovation for Kate at Wimbledon and the general royal sycophancy.

I don't like misogyny. But this isn't experienced as "moments", more of a constant debilitating deluge that drenches everything and everyone and prevents the vast majority of people (even the direct targets) from seeing it for what it is, calling it to account, and trying to move beyond it to create a society where people can equitably live.

Totally agree on misogyny being so prevalent, everywhere. It's still a man's world sadly.

Lip fillers

Following on from lip fillers, that hideous trend of pouting on selfies! Do people not realise just how ridiculous they look?! One of my FB friends, in her 40s, started doing it alongside her teenage daughter & I just think “ Oh for goodness sake woman”!

but I find hope when I see little act of kindness and I try to look for them every day, and I try to stop and look at natures beauty everyday because my anxieties would go through the roof if i didnt (that and my anti depressants - i m grateful for those 😝)

Misogyny for sure. I'd gently suggest those mad about lip fillers direct their ire at the multi-billion dollar beauty and cosmetics industry that perpetuates and encourages unrealistic, unnatural beauty standards and creates an environment in which (predominantly) women find it necessary to undergo cosmetic treatments. I don't like seeing filler and implants either, it makes me sad that patriarchy and capitalism has ensnared these women but I'll never hold ill will towards them on a personal level.

I've been at several vigils for Afghan women this year.
