Sister causing drama(again)

MrsRaspberry · 14/07/2025 16:10

As the title says my older sister is again causing drama over stupid stuff. She's our dad's favourite and she knows it. I message dad and call him with no response and I'm quite fed up of it yet he drops everything for her and helps her to buy new cars all the time despite not really needing the financial help but she felt entitled to his contribution since he gave her a car for free that she felt wasn't good enough. Last time I saw dad he was quite rude towards me and I told my sister so too. She was all like oh you can button it saying that about dad and getting defensive over him. I told my other sister about it and she agrees if he's rude then I have every right to be annoyed by dad's rudeness. Our younger sister has told her why she doesn't see her much(because she purposely upsets her by telling her stuff about our dad when she doesn't want to know)and the drama queen dragged my name into her defense and slagging me off in the argument then messaged me saying if I'm gonna shit talk her to our younger sister then I can fuck off. Like what the hell she's the one who dragged my name into her defensive argument and slated me off rotten. She's only bothered because my younger sister actually told her to piss off slating me off so to be fair the statement she went and sent me can also apply to her. Would I be unreasonable to cut her off?

Sounds like drama from all sides to me.

HisNibs · 14/07/2025 16:38

I think you all need to grow up.

cherrycherrypickin · 14/07/2025 16:54

I'm not who said what, why or when but you all sound as dramatic as each other.

ninjahamster · 14/07/2025 16:56

You all sound bonkers! Probably a good idea to stay out of each other’s way.

LittlleMy · 14/07/2025 16:58

I’m getting Vicky Pollard vibes!

AiryFairyLights · 14/07/2025 17:06

I’vea headache reading that - I’m not going back to try and re read it. Sorry @MrsRaspberry walk away from the drama, don’t feed it or get pulled back in.
If someone (whether it’s your dad, sister or stranger in the street) can’t be civil or polite then walk away!

BotterMon · 14/07/2025 17:09

Are you all under the age of 18? You all sound incredibly immature and rather nasty in the way you speak about and to each other.

That's the thing I didn't "shit talk" my older sister as she so put it. She basically dragged my name into an argument that had nothing to do with me and was slagging me off to my other sister. Then she came at me saying I had been slagging her off when I haven't. My older sister seems to have form for creating drama for the fun of it as she has nothing better to do

Sorry OP your post is hard to read and makes you seem very childish. If your sister causes stress you should try to avoid her. If you speak about anyone in your family behind their back you now know this will probably get back to them, so bear that in mind for the future. Good luck.

PhilippaGeorgiou · 14/07/2025 17:13

So you decided to "shit talk" her on an internet site to improve matters.

Why on earth do people need to post their family dramas to make decisions about things in their own life? Do what you want dear.

Jabberwok · 14/07/2025 17:18

Op..you sound upset. I understand it...my wife's older sister is the fave, a complete cow and has undermined, put down and attempted to one up my wife from the moment my wife was born...she was 12 at the time. She too has been gifted cars, money, time.

my wife just accepts this as it's her normal and always has been. However, fil is dead and mil is in her mid 90s sister herself is almost 70 and is widowed with no kids...she's in for a shock when neither my wife, Her brother or any of the family will want anything to do with her when mi l goes.

I regret not having that blazing row 30 years ago when pil could have been told what a monster they had created. But none of us did because we didn't want to upset them.

Exactly my point. Yet my older sister is the one who cut off all of the family more than once over stupidity. She's the one who always bitches and moans about our dad yet he's the one she goes to when she wants his help with her kids or getting another car. He goes on holiday with her and she moans to us all afterwards that she wishes she didn't invite him as he's miserable and apparently ruins her holiday yet she has him there so he can help her out entertaining her kids as she's a single parent. She's honestly nasty about him until she needs his help she has even gone as far as saying he can hurry up and die already. But I apparently cannot be annoyed when he's horrible and rude despite me making multiple efforts to actually communicate and when I do he tells me to shut the fuck up and stop talking so much. She says I should button it and not show any annoyance towards his rudeness. I'm at least not wishing the guy dead I just said he was being rude and insensitive.

I take a step back from my similar family. They will never change. As they say, all you can change is your reaction to it. If you are one of three sisters, I know that is not always a good place to be. As a pp says, I play the long game and await the eldest in our family alienating everybody around her because it is inevitable with her behaviour. Build your own life, focus on that, make good friends instead.

It's your dad who's the problem. Sorry he shouldn't talk to you like that.

You have a hard choice. Except being second best (as my wife has) or walk away to save yourself the stress.

Actually there's a third choice. Except you're not going to change the situation. Don't rock the boat, go along with your sister (tell your other sister that you don't want drama and you won't interact when the older one starts it) and when your dad needs care/help/having his arse wiped tell him sweetly that she can do it because you're rude and insensitive and she needs to pay back of the cars and money he gave her somehow

Yes but honestly if you give her a reaction you’re feeding it. If you don’t give her any reaction she’ll get bored and eventually shut up (hopefully) or just make herself look stupid x

AiryFairyLights · 14/07/2025 23:27

Same with your dad - when he’s rude again simply say “sorry you feel that way, goodbye” and leave!

NoSoupForU · 14/07/2025 23:30

I think you all ought to spend less time gossipping between you about one another and more time growing the fuck up.
