dinner pretty much cooking itself, im knackered, DD wants to be up with daddy, he didnt get in til 6.30 and was out before she woke up. Is it mean of me to leave her up there while he has a soak, he is pretty knackered too? If i go and get her, she will whine and cry and i'll only get stressed. He said he didnt mind, but it was in that resigned "do i have any choice" tone of voice.

I do this with my ds. If dh tries to take him away and leave me in peace, he creates absolute hell about it. If we just let him get on with it, he gets bored after 10 mins and decides that whatever daddy is doing is more interesting.

Therefore you are perfectly justified in MNing.

YANBU, he didn't say no did he, so let them get on with it. Its very tiring looking after kids all day so you need a rest too. When he gets out of the bath, he will be refreshed, relaxed and enjoy the dinner you have slaved over. (He doesn't need to know its cooking itself.)

When you hear him getting out of the bath, switch off the computer and go and stand next to the oven!

Great MN minds think alike. Tell him Nigella's doing it now, it's quite the thing

lucyellensmum · 26/05/2008 21:44

ah but he can't stand nigella!! We watched one of her programs once, it was the most we had laughed in a long time, how everything was just "so easy"! But i did use one of her recipe's once lol Personally i think she is farking gorgeous, if a little irritating
