I live on a cul de sac so the road adjacent the gardens back onto the cul de sac and everyone puts their bins out onto the cul de sac. Every bloody week the same house leave them out for days once they're emptied, this week they haven't bothered to come and get them at all! So now someone has moved the bin so its right next to my front garden. Its ugly to look at and spoils my view out of my living room and bedroom. Im considering wheeling it round to their front garden. So lazy to just not take them back in. Its a really nice clean peaceful cul de sac.

Get a grip, or better yet, a hobby. You’ve clearly got too much time on your hands.

Im actually a really busy person with loads of hobbies but thanks for your input. I just like things to look tidy and we all work hard to make our houses and front gardens look nice. Its a small thing they could do to be considerate.

In your place, I would move it OP. If it's in front of their house, they might take the hint.

Round my way, if we don't move our bins they get in the way of buggies and wheelchairs.

I'm kind of with you OP. I'm not really bothered with how they look but my neighbour always leaves their bins out for days past collection day. In the storms we had earlier in the year their bins blew down the street and wacked my car causing £900 worth of damage, money i didn't have as we were paying for Ivf. They knew about the damage and cost and yet they still leave the bins out now 🙄

Yanbu. Lots of my scummy neighbours have never brought their bins in. I've complained to the council and they just don't care. You have my sympathies, it's horrible having neighbours like that.

I get my own back a tiny bit by reporting every single speck of flytipping the moment they leave it on the path. The council do actually deal with that.

Thanks all, I wheeled it back to in front of their house and they still haven't taken it in!!

My neighbour doesn't put their bin in for days but bin men always leave it behind my car therefore I wheel it into the middle of their drive so they need to get out their car 1 to move it up the drive ! Passive aggressive, I know but it annoys me lying at my drive.

YANBU OP

People saying you need a hobby are ridiculous. Clutter and mess has actually been proven to cause physical stress - just like noise. I understand why, for people that it impact, having someone else's mess in your view when you have no control over it would be unpleasant.

Keysfound · 15/07/2025 21:22

Next time wheel it in the opposite direction so she has to hunt for it….

Zanatdy · 15/07/2025 21:23

It wouldn’t bother me, but it’s the kind of thing my retired mother would notice and also complain about.

Thanks all, I wheeled it back to in front of their house and they still haven't taken it in!!

Next time take it for a walk into the next street (under cover of darkness). They might start looking after it if it keeps "disappearing". Although I wouldn't be brave enough to do that 😂

Failing that report them to the council as it is an offence to cause obstructions. They'll get a warning before any fines so don't feel bad about doing it.
