To wonder why people put pregnancy ultrasound videos on social media?

Are there really many people who want to be watching random strangers’ full ultrasounds? I’m not even interested in those of family and friends of I’m totally honest. Am I unusual here? Full length ones seem pretty boring.

I have wondered about that too.

Unless a very close friend or relative then a photo is fine, dont need a video. They do all look the same although I'm far too polite to say so!
Everything has to be shared these days though...

OkieDoke123 · 14/07/2025 07:40

@Allschoolsareartschools why does it have to shared though?

I agree OP. I also find it so weird when people post ‘potty shot’ ultrasound pictures and ask whether people think it’s a boy or girl. That’s literally a picture of your child’s genitals, why are you putting it on Facebook? So weird to me. 🤢

Because they are happy and proud and they probably have their friends and family as followers. Saves you having to message them individually.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 14/07/2025 07:46

Because they're attention seekers probably.

MidnightPatrol · 14/07/2025 07:47

Presumably because they are excited.

This. “ look at me, look at me, look at me”!

notacooldad · 14/07/2025 07:49

I would imagine because its big and exciting news for them and they are sharing because some of their friends and family will be excited too.

This. “ look at me, look at me, look at me”!
And why not? Its their Facebook page, to share what they want, with people that presumably like them, whats wrong with them sharing a bit of their exciting news.

Its not a big deal.

IamnotSethRogan · 14/07/2025 08:09

People are excited ? With the horror show that is a lot of social media I can't get wound up about parents being excited about their unborn child. And I say this as someone who has little to no interest in other people's babies.

I was thinking of Instagram and TikTok where posts show up on feeds of people you don’t know.

This probably makes me a really heartless cow but I’m afraid I couldn’t give a toss that Mindy from Arkansas is having finally boy after 5 girls and here’s the potty shot as proof. Even though she describes herself as a Christian wife. I honestly hope they have a gender reveal canon and it blows their whole house up, including the new nursery full of nodding pink poodles she’s working so hard on.
