Am I being silly here?

Baby is 4 and a half weeks old I’ve been home since the day after she was born, partner took photos of me and baby in the hospital but in all that time we’ve been home he’s taken 4 photos of me and our baby! 4 ! Which are all the same photo ! That’s it ! I’ve taken lots of him and baby ( I’ve not been well and still managed to make sure he’s got photos of him and baby ) I’m really hurt by this but he is saying it’s no big deal and I’m being silly ! I actually feel quite upset by it !

Men tend to look at things like this on the face of it. He likely won't treasure photos like you do. But whats the real issue under this, is it because you're worried he isn't as excited about the baby as you, that you look different and he doesn't want photos? Think about the cause of that and then discuss the underlying issues as otherwise he won't realise that it's not about the photo itself

Why don’t ask him to take some nice ones with you and baby then all 3 of you. I don’t think to photos as I don’t particularly enjoy being in then. Congratulations on your baby! Xx

You will have a lifetime to take photos! As a parent you quickly realise you're taking too many - the child isn't changing that much! Relax and enjoy your baby IRL!

I'd hate someone taking photos of me when I'm not well.

But if you don't, have you asked him to take some?

Givenupshopping · 12/07/2025 22:48

Men don't think the same way that we do about things like this OP, and they certainly don't seem to have the emotional attachment to photographs like we do. Just ask him to take some.

Oh, and congratulations on your new baby.

This! And chill! With the exclamation marks!!

Don’t wait for him to do it spontaneously as your child will probably be in primary school before he thinks of it! Tell him! Say take a photo of me and the baby now, while we’re having a cuddle, sitting in the garden, or whatever you want. Don’t let these precious early weeks slip by without you getting as many photos as you want!
