Why can’t you recycle duvets ? I was told to put in the household section

Just wondered why duvets material can’t be recycled and I was told to put in household containers?

You can put them in a box in dunelm I believe the recycle them from there

Honestly I recycle mine i cut it up and restuff a chair bed or donate it for dogs in kennels

Many are a mixture of natural and synthetic materials so the cost to recycle is prohibitive - if you have a dunelm near you check if they have a recycling collection point as last year they rolled out a programme where pillows , duvets etc could be dropped off

I used to work in a homeless hostel, and reason there was bedbugs.

I switched to coverless duvets a couple of years ago partially for this reason as was having to purchase new ones regularly and nowhere to recycle
