Dilapidations cost

Hi,

i have received a dilapidation bill for a commercial property I was in. When I initially got the repairs list I was still a tenant. All repairs were carried out whilst I was still a tenant.
However, during our tenancy the landlord has had a surveyor go onto the property when I was out and carry out a survey. This is pre repairs.
They are claiming damages and solicitors cost.
where do I stand with this? Surely if the survey was done whilst I was a tenant it’s irrelevant. Any advice would be appreciated!

Why would it be irrelevant?

Dilaps is frankly a nightmare. What does your contract say. It’s likely you will be liable.

I didn’t think it would be relevant because it was done during our tenancy and the claims the landlord is requesting were completed by us. Such as a full repaint of the exterior, we done that before we left. Claiming for replacement of doors despite putting in writing they was going to include doors.
