Handed my notice in a week ago. I’ve been put on the most mind numbing work since then, after handing over my own files.

I’m sat here writing letters to people asking them to pay £1,500 to make a lasting power of attorney, when you can get the forms for free online!!! I feel so pissed off with it all and I just want to leave

How long have you got left?

This too shall pass.
If you can maintain your commitment and smiles right to the end, it’s a mark of strong good character.
Well done and just keep going!

I’m over it. I’m quietly rebelling by printing more in their “paperlite” policy

What's your manager like, could you negotiate with them or HR for an earlier leaving date?

Is what you are currently doing within your job description? If not, there might be some leverage there for you to say that they've not got work for you so you suggest that your last day can be brought forward

Hummussapiens · 08/07/2025 18:25

Slightly off topic but any chance you could post a link to the forms, please? I really hope you can get through the next few weeks ok - sweet freedom beckons!

Mangolover123 · 08/07/2025 18:41

Can you by mistake include the link to the free forms in your letter......

Just Google - make a lasting power of attorney. You have to pay the registration fee but that’s it

If negotiating a shorter notice period doesn't work
options
do you have children? - request unpaid parental leave
see your GP & discuss how stressed you are, might sign you off if you lay it on thick enough.
Request part time working - 2 days a week might be more bearable,
