That could have been it @AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta. I did think either Gillian or Jason was with Sally / Raynor but wasn’t sure which it was or if I was confusing clips so wasn’t more specific.

EsmaCannonball · 08/07/2025 21:47

Who looks after Moth when Raynor is away doing long treks and media appearances? I know a couple where the woman has a neurological condition and the man has taken on some caring responsibilities. They are at the point where they are reluctantly having to think about getting some outside help because the man is worried about his wife falling and not being able to get up when he is not at home and the woman is starting to struggle with basic tasks if her husband isn't there to help. And this couple does not live on a remote farm like the Winns. Is anybody there to keep an eye on Moth when Raynor is not around?

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 08/07/2025 21:51

Good point @EsmaCannonball . They could definitely afford to pay for carers to come and stay with Moth but equally I'd have thought Sally would've mentioned it in her last book.

Yet more mystery and questions...

I'm perhaps getting too hung up on the wedding dress thing but let's just say, according to previous research, Sally was born in 1962 to a reasonably working/middle class family in Melton Mowbray.

Take twenty or twenty two or twenty four or twenty six years off that and her parents would have married (at least at the average age of her mother) just before or during WW2.

Where's the stupendous wedding frock?

Her parents would not have married 24-26 years before she was born. They are more likely to have been born 20-30 years before she was born.

Just for the record - I was born in 1962 and my parents were born in 1924/1931 and married in 1953 (and the wedding dress had to come from ration coupons)

Yes it really is because you need to attend interviews, provide medical evidence and and address and - oh, you'd think the DWP might have noticed a book or two describing how he was miraculously cured of his (amongst other things) mobility problems whilst long distance walking. Unless, of course, it was awarded for being a pathological liar, which may constitute a mental health disorder. I doubt it, but possibly worth a try.

Yes, but he would claim under his real name, the one attached to the national security number so no connection to the books. Only recently seen him in pictures. I know professionals who do assessments so I understand the assessment process. He doesn’t seem delusional? Being a liar is not a mental health condition.

SwetSwetSwet · 08/07/2025 21:55

There's absolutely no evidence at all that he claimed PIP, let alone got it. I think we need to avoid that rabbit hole, and stick to the facts.

Er no, if she was born in 1962 her parents would likely have married around 1960.

Orangesandlemons77 · 08/07/2025 22:07

You'd think if it was Moth who was helped by the walking, she would go with him when he was well enough rather than go off on her own to walk, but who knows.

They married in 1954.

Not if you are a bare faced liar!

Bare faced lies alone won't get you PIP. Please stop.

Cakeandcheeseforever · 08/07/2025 22:30

I don’t believe she really sold her mum’s wedding dress, it sounds like a lie told to the Welsh couple she stole from as a lame attempt to pull at their heartstrings and make them feel slightly guilty. The money probably came from a credit card. So manipulative.

It was 'This Morning'. I mentioned it on the last thread, I think. Gillian Anderson was with her but not Moth as he’d been taken ill and had been in hospital, she said, but when the hosts (is Cat Deeley one of them? I only saw a clip online and don’t normally watch it) expressed loud shock and sympathy, RW said he was now 'much better' or 'fine' or words to that effect. She seemed quite unbothered by it all tbh.

Agoddessonamountaintop · 08/07/2025 22:35

I enjoyed this from the Daily Mash:
‘Is the South West Coast Path life affirming?’
The pyramids are breathtaking. The Grand Canyon fills you with awe. Poorly maintained Cornish footpaths looking onto gunmetal waves heavy with sewage affirm little. Retrace the footsteps of the Salt Path and you’ll end up walking into the sea after filling your pockets with stones."
Fully concur

NetZeroZealot · 08/07/2025 22:39

That’s a bit unfair - tainted by association! I was in a section in Cornwall recently and it’s pretty magnificent!

Cakeandcheeseforever · 08/07/2025 22:45

Don’t think I’ve seen anything about what Sally spent the £64k she stole on. Presumably that would have come out if the case had gone to court but it was hushed up. Could either she or Tim have had a gambling addiction or fine tastes? Does it tally with when the land in France was purchased? Maybe France was the escape plan after their debts in Wales started being called in. But then something went wrong with that plan and they turned to Cornwall.

Enough4me · 07/07/2025 23:32

The post from the nephew suggests they're pathological liars. Perhaps they are and that holds them together. The lies that bind them!

FWIW i think this is why the Clintons are still "together" lol.

Tim bought the French property in 2007, and she was found out in 2008 I think after years of embezzlement.

The thing is, if it didn’t happen then you have been misled. It is terribly sad that you are unwell but the world is full of snake oil salesmen spreading fake scientific ideas that sound plausible and miracle cures. This is not the place to find hope, and such people should not be given a platform to spread misinformation by major publishing houses.

Did you know that when I click on this it gives me your Instagram ID?

Smashedavacado · 08/07/2025 23:29

Just to note this came from Raynor Moth's own Instagram feed. It was in April 2024.

If this is all true , and let’s face it- it certainly looks that way, how on earth did they think they’d keep their lies hidden?

Edited

They probably hadn't expected the book to be so successful. The odds were against it. It could easily have slipped under the radar while still making them enough money to have been worth it.
