To ask if you play online slots?

I was around a friends last night and we put Love Island on, there was (as usual) a gambling website being promoted. I said to my friend how advertising for online slots etc seems to be everywhere now, on adverts in the radio, on the TV.

She ‘confessed’ that she occasionally puts £20-£30 into online slots. I was shocked to be honest as it’s just not something I could imagine her doing.

It got me wondering, IS it popular now? Have you ever done it?

You were shocked because you can't imagine people gambling?

Is this some weird market research attempt really to see how many people the adverts work on?

I think it’s awful actually just how many adverts for gambling there are. More so during daytime TV where it’s clear praying on vulnerability as vast majority of people who stay at home all day will be on low income. So you’re essentially exploiting those who would want to make a bit more. It should be more capped and regulated IMO. I understand when watching sports or whatever, it’s part of the ‘culture’, but thirteen different bingos when Jeremy Vine is on is not great.

But to actually answer your question no, never slots or any other pinging flashing games. I’ve only put a ‘bet’ on during something like the World Cup for the experience
