Lunch - half cold, half not

BlueyAndBing0 · 06/07/2025 12:07

I have some family coming for a late lunch. Prepared some lamb koftas to cook when people arrive.
I plan to serve on a bed of cous cous, can this be made now and served cold?

Also new pots, can I serve them cold if I make them now?

Also made a tatziki, flatbreads (which I'll warm?) and a Greek salad.

Thanks :)

I quite often serve cold things with hot things, but I'm not sure about serving cold cous cous with hot koftas. I think it depends how you are doing the clue cous? I quite often do a cous cous salad, but I know there are plenty of recipes out there for hot cous cous to be served with hot meat.

I'm on the fence with this one.

Of course you can do it, but I think it would be much nicer if the couscous was hot too

Couscous cooks really quickly so it can be done as you are doing the koftas. Your menu sounds lovely!

Sorry, but warm koftas with cold couscous and cold potatoes sounds really odd. Either serve it all cold or all warm, but don't mix and match.

This is really helpful thanks! I'll just stop being lazy and serve it all hot :)

The cold cous cous would be fine for me. Cold new potatoes though….ugh!

Make ahead then zap in the microwave.
