Shop assistants and walkie talkies

Anyone else get rather irritated by the way shop assistants whilst serving at the till are more focused on having casual conversations with colleagues than turning attention to the customer they are serving....seems to be becoming more and more common.
In superdrug today, the assistant literally only interacted with me to tell me the final total, no goodbye or thankyou or anything more....just feels quite rude when you are a paying customer to basically be ignored whilst they have a chat!

Yep, I’ve had a recent moan about this too. We were in Lidl recently, and the guy only acknowledged us when he asked if we wanted a receipt; he didn’t even let us know the total cost!

I compare it to when I worked in retail 20+ years ago, and it was instilled in us that the customer was to be treated like royalty.

Oh yes our local LIDL can be really bad for it too actually!
