Hi all,

Any advice would be really great please.

Got made redundant from my dream job after Christmas. Was quite shell shocked, but financially had to move on to something else relatively quickly and applied for a few things.

Luckily got offered a job with a larger company, but in an interesting area and started in March. Had the honeymoon period and all was good but recently feel I can’t do anything right - always felt confident in my roles before as I am careful and try to take onboard feedback. Really don’t feel welcome here and don’t think I’m liked by my boss. He doesn’t engage with me and I seem to get constant criticism from him (despite him hiring me). I literally can’t do anything right despite me asking him for feedback and trying to show where I’ve taken the feedback on board

Theres a probation period that ends in September. Part of me wants to stick it out because I like the job and don’t want to go through the ordeal of interviews again (also there’s not a lot around job wise) but equally if I don’t pass probation then I’m back to square one and really can’t afford to be financially after being redundant just a few months ago. I’ve given my all to this because I want it to work and can work remotely which helps so much with family life.

Any advice on what I should do really welcome. Thanks

I think you could just casually look for another job. I understand you don't want to go through all the pilava again but you also can't stay in a job that you're not happy in. Especially if now that the honeymoon period is over they're making you feel inadequate. But then again if you need to endure some more just to get the work experience under your belt then look at it like that. But still nothing wrong with you casually searching for other jobs anyway. Only you know when you can't take it anymore. Deep breaths and the best of luck x

I would stick it out while looking for another job.
