BST Hyde park guardian + child ticket

Wanttohelpbuthow · 04/07/2025 22:49

Me & my husband bought 2 guardian + child tickets for BST Hyde Park. Our children are between the ages 2-9 and this was the info shown before purchasing the ticket (screenshot below).

I’ve since joined a Facebook group for the event and people are saying you need one ticket for the child and one for the parent separately. So I’d need 4 tickets total.

Have I read the ticket completely wrong?

Anyone? Panicking!

To me it reads as if it gives access to both a child and guardian under the one ticket. How much were the tickets? That might give a clue.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 04/07/2025 23:07

No idea really but the last sentence does say "All children aged 2 and over must have their own ticket".

It looks confusing!

Wanttohelpbuthow · 04/07/2025 23:17

The ticket was £86 vs general admission (just a standard adult ticket) was £130. So I was confused by the price. To add further confusion I’ve asked their AI chat and had these responses but then dug deep into the website and found the second screen shot on the terms and conditions page.

By confused by the price I mean I did think it was very cheap.

Ok I just searched this up on TikTok and found a video from a lady who took her 2 year old last year

Given that they are sold in pairs, you must surely need 2 pairs for 2 adults and 2 kids aged 2-9. Otherwise, surely everyone would buy a guardian ticket instead of general admission because it would be £44 cheaper per adult.
It seems like a very confusing way of selling tickets though. Why not have an adult price and a child price, and people can buy as many of each as they need?

I think they won’t let you in without a child plus have limited amount of these to sell. Everywhere seems to say that this is a combined ticket for one adult and one child, you likely have two tickets on the day.

The all children over 2 must have their own ticket is just in reference to under 2s being free and not needing one I think.

It’s mad how much cheaper it is but google AI says it’s to encourage families to come.

I also found this thread and they would have gone yesterday so it might be worth asking here or reaching out to the OP.

I really don’t understand it. I’ve bought 2 tickets it says - I’m very anxious to go all the way there (not close) with my 2 daughters and get turned away! They’d be heartbroken

I also read that as child under 2 = get in free without a ticket, and the tickets you've purchased are good for one adult and one child aged 2-9

itsgettingweird · 05/07/2025 07:51

If you brought a garden and child ticket that is the ticket for the child over 2.

Of you tried to take a child over 2 in without a child and guardian ticket they effectively wouldn’t have a ticket as the ticket would be adult only.

Agree the wording is confusing but your actual ticket should say Guardian and child. Therefore each ticket admits 1 guardian and 1 child.

Wanttohelpbuthow · 05/07/2025 08:00

Some people on the Facebook group are replying to me saying differently, essentially I’d need 4 tickets. I’ll just have to go and hope for the best! Hopefully not end up with 2 very upset girls!

The person in the other thread didn’t same as you. I would post on that thread to ask as they were there yesterday.

mindutopia · 05/07/2025 09:06

To me that very clearly reads as the ticket admits one child and one accompanying adult with that child.

I think the price difference is to encourage families to attend and to account for the fact that as an adult with a young child, you won’t stay as long or fully use the facilities, hence cheaper.

I wouldn’t trust some random person on Facebook. The average person isn’t very clever and my guess is they are trying hard to convince themselves why they spent double for their tickets.

BlackBean2023 · 05/07/2025 13:44

Did you get in OP?

Roomwithaview2019 · 05/07/2025 14:10

Op. I think you've bought the tickets correctly. You dont buy 4 tickets. You buy 2 as their are two adults and two kids that fit the age of the tickets. Will be interesting to see who was right. Do let us know if you can. Good luck. Lol xx

Wanttohelpbuthow · 05/07/2025 17:05

I’m going tomorrow! 🤞🏼 will update when I can. Facebook is telling me I need 4 still but I’m hoping I at least have a leg to stand on to argue it if that is the case. The wording is so confusing

On ticket master it explains that the child plus guardian tickets are sold together and you need one for the adult and one for the child.

I think you need 4 tickets.

It says it admits one guardian and one child. The Facebook people don't sound like the brightest bulbs. What would the point be of this guardian and child ticket if you still had to buy another one for the child?

I think it’s because you pay less per ticket for both the adult and the child?

MiddleClassProblem · 05/07/2025 19:34

Fingers crossed you have it right. It seems to be what the lady on TikTok said about her ticket last year. She had a guardian and child and the other adults had adult only.

Would be great to know for next year!

Wanttohelpbuthow · 05/07/2025 20:27

I bought through AXS not ticket master (still on the genuine BST website) and my original post screenshot was the only info provided on the page before you selected your ticket. If I am wrong then I think it’s so badly worded, I’m not the only one who is confused! Surely this is their fault … I really can’t afford to fork out an extra £220 to get 2 general admission tickets for me and my husband! So I think I’m going to chance it ….

They are sold in pairs and you have bought one pair, ie one adult, one child.
