What can we wear?

I dont want to wear leggings or shorts, I want to wear those baggy wide leg tracksuit bottoms we had as kids in the 90s.

Where are they?

Have you asked your mum? She's probably still got them

GettingFestiveNow · 04/07/2025 18:36

Decathlon has them.

Baddaybigcloud · 04/07/2025 18:36

How about something like Sweaty Betty Tempo running shirts. They are like a double short so the over layer isn’t tight on your bum!

LlynTegid · 04/07/2025 18:37

Hope you can find them OP, and glad to read that you have some taste and style.

SummertimeWTFery · 04/07/2025 18:37

I still just dont want something clinging to my legs though!
Im tall so I bought a pair of mens from Decathlon but they're kind of tapered and slimline. I want those proper "cover your shoes" ones

Why are your shoes shy at the gym? Just get any old trackybots from a supermarket.

DecayedStrumpet · 04/07/2025 18:40

Last time I looked, Primark sell pretty baggy jogging bottoms and so do Under Armour if you fancy going upmarket

But what would you be doing at the gym, that flappy ankle fabric wouldn't get in the way?

Solmum1964 · 04/07/2025 18:41

MandS do straight and wide leg jersey trousers with a bit of stretch

SummertimeWTFery · 04/07/2025 18:42

Remember how they had poppers? 🥹

Boot cut

Just using the resistance machines. So I dont really want to be rolling on skin tight leggings just for that, i just want some baggy trackies i can trek around town in and then drop in to use the machines

I prefer that too! Loose jersey pants and a loose t shirt over. Don't want leggings that go up my arse, horrible look.

You can still buy them! https://www.asos.com/adidas-originals/adidas-originals-adibreak-track-pants-in-navy/prd/207200482adidas Originals Adibreak track pants in navy | ASOS

Hollister do them. You might have to shop in the men's section

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 04/07/2025 19:55

It was a great look but I think you might fall over if they covered your shoes - but if you want to go for it Lucy and Yak or H&M have that vibe - or M and S do more sedate wide ones

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 04/07/2025 19:56

I agree BTW.

I do not want to see the outlines of people’s bottoms and (worse!) front bottoms, it’s just too much detail

JaneGrint · 04/07/2025 19:59

M&S had some wide leg jogger bottoms in their goodmove section when I was in there a few weeks ago.

TrainGame · 04/07/2025 20:01

Still got mine from the 1990s 😁

H&M grey velour ❤️

TrainGame · 04/07/2025 20:02

I know exactly what you mean OP because I can’t find the cut of my old trousers. They’re not massively wide like the current trend but they are wide enough not to cling!

arcticpandas · 04/07/2025 20:07

I found baggy shorts on Amazon. Perfect for the gym.
