Attempted to send flowers to a very elderly relative for her 94th birthday today. Paid extra for ‘guaranteed delivery.’

At 3.45pm I received an email: ‘Your order has been delayed, but don’t worry, we’ll still deliver it today.’ (Exact wording).

At 9.51pm, another email (again exact wording): ‘There’s been a delay with delivery of your order. Don’t worry, we’ll send you a message tomorrow regarding your delivery.’

so I have

  1. No flowers
  2. No refund
  3. No resolution or clear information, and most importantly
  4. NO EFFING APOLOGY.

FFS!! Guaranteed delivery, my arse!!

And my relative doesn’t answer the phone any more (too many scams apparently) so I can’t even let her know. ARGH.

They are so terrible - takes an extra week to get stuff delivered to my house than it does 25 mins down the road at my husbands office!

And 3/4 times the parcel goes missing. There is an evri driver wearing all my next clothes I think. I hope they ride up on him!

I think it depends on the delivery person in your area. We had a brilliant Evri man for years and I really miss him. Now I try to avoid Evri as new deliver man just sends emails that my lovely deliver umma tried to deliver, but I wasn’t at home. I WAS very much at home and had taken days off to be at home….

I know they have a bad reputation, but I ordered toe flowers through a company called eflorist and it didn’t occur to me to check which courier service they used.

it’s so frustrating!!

Especially the patronising, breezy tone of the emails! Surely any company would want to at least send a generic apology for a missing delivery?

Evri are why I stopped getting hello fresh orders delivered. The ice was water by the time it arrived

Zero point in complaining to evri.

Your contract is with the seller (the florist). Your contract with them included guaranteed delivery, they appointed the courier, and as the courier failed to deliver it is up to the florist to compensate / refund you.

If that fails you could try Credit Card charge back with the reason being ‘failure to deliver according to contracted timeline’.

If enough people tell sellers their choice of courier is poor they’ll pressure them to improve or stop using their service.

When ordering flowers either call a local florist, making sure you're actually through to the florist not a call centre. Or order on the same day. The relay companies will then have to use one of their local florists.
