To think there isnt a difference?

Sitting here listening to my neighbours loud music from their garden which I can hear in my house even with the windows and doors closed. They dont care. I live in a semi detached house.

To think even if I moved to a detached house I would have this problem
Are they really worth the price premium if I could get this problem anyway

From the garden there’s no difference but do they do it inside the house in the winter? That’s different.

Exactly. The music in the garden issue is only possible for fairly limited parts of the year in this part of the world. The Metallica through the wall issue can be 365 days a year.

Well it depends how close the gardens are; in a detached house you might be further away. Main plus of a detached is not hearing noise from the joining walls obviously and for us it’s worth it

I think the real difference is the type of neighbourhood you live in. I’ve always lived in very nice areas and no one would DREAM of playing music loudly enough for neighbours to hear. It’s definitely not the done thing where we live.

Detached is no guarantee of not being troubled by bad neighbours.

Are you noisy? We're detached and my neighbours are crazy loud at times. I figure they least they can do is put up with occasional music in my garden as a result. It's a lot less than they dish out.

We are detached. You can still hear music from the garden , or in the house if the back door is open.
