Damaged my car

Hi all

obv not an AIBU but I need help!

I got out the car this morning after the school run and noticed this scrape above the wheel arch. We have a tiny entrance to our car park, I always pull my wing mirror in and therefor have my window open so I am sure if I had scraped the car I would have heard it but the only other person to drive it is DH and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t there when I got in this morning although admittedly i didn’t look. I did have 3 noisy kids in the back.

is there anyway I can fix this without taking it to a garage or am I going to have to admit defeat and foot the bill for this? 😭

we have had a really shitty month and it’s the last thing I need

(I have added the image but not sure if it will need time to be approved).

Depends what it is. Sometimes it will be your paint that is scratched off. Other times it will be paint from whatever you hit, the vehicle that hit you.

I hired a white van brand new once and rubbed it accidentally against a painted fence with the wheel arch. Got a rag and some solvent and basically rubbed it until the paint came off and it was fine and looked like new.

You can use paint restorer/tcut if the scratches are not too deep. If the scratches are deep you might need paint. Do a youtube search on scratch restoring to see some of the techniques that can be used before you decide whether to attempt it or not.

Thank you I will try that. I’m pretty sure it was on the way out of the car park as the walls are so narrow and it’s at an arkward angle. Il go and check how how deep the scratches are. Thank you!
