AIBU for asking for advice about going to Wimbledon for the first time ever later this week? What can you take in (food / drink??)

What should you avoid? Any recommendations for how to make the best of the day? Our tickets are for Court 2.

TIA for any advice!

Food and drink are pricey. But you can take in a bottle of wine per person. There are water fountains to top up water bottles. We usually go to Leon or Waitrose en route with a small cool bag. Take sun cream and possibly a jacket for the evening.

Don't mention Milton Keynes Dons and you'll be fine

It gives you a list of what you can and can't take in on their website but as long as it's in the right sized bag you can take a fair bit of food and drink in. We normally get some nice picnic bits from M&S and take ready mixed cans of g&t but you can take a bottle of wine or fizz in each if that's what you fancy. Pimms isn't cheap to buy there but while you're there it's got to be done, strawberries and cream are cheap though (£2.80 this year). Take suncream, hat, sunglasses and jacket or cardi for the evening. Have fun! It's a long day but worth it Smile

Thank you! (& I’ll not mention MK Dons @ClareBlue 😂)

Court 2 is a great court as you are closer to the players then centre or number 1 but it is very open to the elements so take sun cream ! Wear comfy shoes and dress with layers.
I reckon there are 2 sorts of people at Wimbledon .. some ooze wealth, have beautiful clothes and unbelievably strappy shoes. They sip champagne from the restaurant balconies. The rest of us wear trainers and shorts and queue for pizza !

I’m definitely in the latter category @wizzler
