Struggling to function

I just feel bone tired. Had a cough/cold that’s dragged on for a few weeks. Hayfever too. But everyday I just feel drained to the point where I’m having to have lie downs throughout the day. I have a hectic schedule, work and toddler who wakes up during the night 90% of the time so I’m getting broken sleep but even so I don’t feel like i should be this tired. Perhaps the heat is making it worse?

Im planning on requesting some bloods from the doctor to check I’m not deficient in anything. I would usually be enjoying a glass of wine and Sunday lunch around now but I can’t be arsed to even get up to eat.

This is exactly how I feel OP, also have a 2 year old that I’m still breastfeeding and has never slept through the night. Feel absolutely exhausted all the time.
i thought it was just life with a child that doesn’t sleep, did get some bloods done though and have very low ferritin so on iron tablets now. Having further tests done too to rule out autoimmune issues given a few other symptoms.
definitely request the bloods, quite likely you are deficient in something and once treated will hopefully feel much better! It takes time though (I’m 6 weeks into iron tablets and so far not feeling much better) so the sooner you get checked the better

Thanks I’ll do that asap. I have told myself it’s probably due to a busy life and the broken sleep but when it’s stopping me from being able to enjoy life and get through the day without a lie down I think it’s possibly more than that. I have a sedentary job and read that sometimes sitting still can actually make you feel more tired than if you were exercising or moving about.

That’s exactly what I told myself! As I also have an office job but working mostly from home so activity and movement is very low all day. My diet is pretty awful too because of the tiredness which I think also makes me even more tired.
Get the bloods booked so that at least you know either way!
