At Glasto. The male dominated groups are just stale and boring - 1975, The Script etc - whereas we have CMAT, Wet Leg, Lola Young, Self Esteem and the likes killing it. Totally fresh. The musical future looks bright!

Agree. V much looking forward to Doechii.

However… PULP!!!

AbzMoz · 28/06/2025 19:40

Ooooh it sounds great! I’m really looking forward to the replays on catch up, especially Self Esteem!

BeamMeUpCountMeIn · 28/06/2025 19:41

Charli tonight and Olivia tomorrow.
The line up seems to be a bit more balanced these days.

OnionsNotBunions · 28/06/2025 19:41

Self Esteem was AMAZING

Yes looking forward to both!

Don't go on the other Glastonbury thread, it's not like "the old days..." apparently 🙄.

TrixieCat · 28/06/2025 20:00

Did you watch Nova Twins? We saw them at a festival earlier this year and then watched their GB set... Amazing! Oh, and Alanis 😍

Victoriaspo · 28/06/2025 20:21

Not heard of Nova Twins, will check them out!

My 40 year old mum when I was 18 "All modern pop music is rubbish."
18 year old me "It's not for you."

People who think Glastonbury isn't like the old days are my mum and my answer stands the test of time.

Victoriaspo · 28/06/2025 20:33

I see what you’re saying @Bridport but I’m 48 and I do think any music I like is ‘for me.’ I don’t like bringing age into it

Just to add I went to Glasto many times in the 90s and loved it. It’s a totally different beast now and tbh I wouldn’t want to go. But doesn’t mean I don’t love some of the music!

Lola Young 🙄

No, I have to disagree. Apart from Alanis, none of the women were killing anything..

The welcome and reaction Lewis got was quite something though. There's an affection for him that none of the others can even get close to.

Shudacudawuda · 28/06/2025 20:41

Completely agree OP, watching Raye at the moment and she is so good.

Also LOVE the Nova Twins, so cool 😎. I didn't realise they were playing again this year, I'll have to look their set up.

I just think sometimes people do stop liking new music as they get older, some not all obviously.

Lola is epic! Proper future star

Charli's set isn't on iplayer yet. I was going to catch up with that while I tidied up. Pah.
I'm not sure why she wasn't on the Pyramid stage though. Must have been some tricky negotiations having Neil Young headline over her.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 29/06/2025 09:32

Wet Leg was very disappointing - more like wet lettuce. Saw Blossoms, they were great. (That's all I've seen so can't comment on the rest.)

Victoriaspo · 29/06/2025 22:13

Olivia rocking it too

OP posts:
Hobbes8 · 29/06/2025 22:29

Also Raye, HAIM and En Vogue (who are in their 60s) were amazing.

BeamMeUpCountMeIn · 29/06/2025 23:38

St Vincent. I assumed she was wafty electro pop. She isn't, she was quite rocky today. A pleasant surprise.
