Washing machine sheets

I know this is dead boring so apologies in advance 🫣

Do any of you use the washing machine colour catcher sheets and if so can you wash colours, darks and whites together?

I like my colours bright and whites crisp so nervous to give them a try but would be a game changer if they really did what it says on the tin. Xx

I use them if I put on a mixed wash. They work for me. Why not try with a wash that has nothing 'precious' in and see if you can live with the results

I looked into it but they seemed expensive.
Also I really do want to be sure to keep whites very white.
I tend to plan ahead with laundry (you did warn people this would be a boring thread!)
So if we have a full set of white bedding ready to go in, I might wait a day or two until I know there will be some white shirts to add to it.

Most of our washing is dark anyway. The only thing I’m quite careful with is denim or cheap red stuff (say if dc have bought something online). Denim goes separately in quick cool wash to keep it dark and protect other lighter stuff.

I do and I wouldn't! If im feeling reckless I might put unimportant whites in with colours

alexalisten · 28/06/2025 09:31

Yes and yes they are excellent

dementedpixie · 28/06/2025 09:34

I wouldn't do a mixed wash with whites in.
I sometimes use them if I've bought a new dark item and im washing it for the first time

I wash everything together without sheets and never have a problem. Maybe that's because I don't buy anything white and actively discourage other family members from white clothes!

I like the Dr Beckmann's reusable colour-catcher sheet. It's like a terry cloth and can be used about 30 times. They are good, and I mix lights and darks, but still keep pure whites separate, just in case.

To get more use out of them, when they are too old to use as colour sheets, I use them as general cloths to mop up spills etc..
