To stop talking to my hairdresser or sack him off entirely?

I made the mistake of mentioning in passing that I’m estranged from family - it came up naturally during our first appointment. Big mistake. When I went back the second time, he brought it up again and started lecturing me and trying to evangelise me about “reconnecting.” On top of that, some of his comments have had a weirdly moralistic or even misogynist undertone which adds to the ick.

My next appointment isn’t for a while and I do like how he does my hair. AIBU to just go in, nip it in the bud straight away, stay polite, keep the chat to a minimum, and bring a book or is that rude? Or should I just walk away altogether and find someone else?

Also estranged from family here. I'd just say that it's a complicated situation, if he raises it, and that you'd rather not think about it while you're enjoying getting your hair done.

Likely he won't raise it again - steer off the topic and he'll get the message.

I don't think I could willingly pay money to a misogynist
