AIBU to cringe now at The Osbournes?

Just started rewatching The Osbournes from the beginning and my god! Maybe it’s because I’m a lot older now but I see it so differently - I used to think it was funny and their house was amazing etc - now as I rewatch - Sharon and the kids were so cringy, constantly going on about money and how much stuff costs. The episode with the neighbours where Sharon is shouting “silly little British white boy” over the fence - I had second hand embarrassment for her! She sounded so silly! They must have been laughing their heads off at her.
“Living off daddy’s money” - I so wish they’d have thrown that back at her regarding living off her husbands money!

Also watching back - the house was an absolute tip! Every surface was full of clutter and mess, everything stained - I mean, I’m not house proud either but Christ - a million dogs shitting and pissing all over the floor, rugs, sodas, beds - the house must have stank.

I love Ozzy - and he’s the only one that comes across well in it. Don’t even get me started on the Courtney love stuff.

Anyone else rewatched it and see it differently? What did you think of it first time you watched it?

I don’t think it has ‘aged badly’ though, they were never supposed to be seen as aspirational, were they? They were always portrayed as dysfunctional and unpleasant.

Surprised at all the love for Ozzy, a man who was charged with attempted murder after strangling his wife and later described it in a documentary as "not one of my greatest achievements" 🙄

I remember watching it and finding it hilarious that Ozzy would shout at the kids for drinking his alcohol for Sharron to remind him he drank it.. Wasn't until a friend pointed out he was a alcoholic that I realised my dad was one and I just had a wildly skewed prospective of drinking.

Ill be honest though to this day I have a soft spot for Ozzy.

It was dirty the first time.

I still remember a Kerrang Pandora strip when one of his solo albums came out years ago. He’s saying ‘I’m not the anti christ or the iron man.’ She says ‘who are you then’ and he says ‘fucked if I can remember’

You do realise, that at that time, not only was she Ozzy’s manager, but she managed several other big name acts as well? She wasn’t some woman shopping all day and having her nails done solely on her DH’s dime.

ETA - honestly, if she wasn’t managing him, there would have been no money coming in from his end either, he wouldn’t have made any at that point without her ensuring he did so. So, really question her living off her DH’s money aspect without doing anything to enable that aspect!

Showing your internal misogyny there OP. Sharon Osborne made their money, not Ozzy. Does he come across like a savvy earner or spender to you ?

She's known as a completely hard headed business person in the music industry. They're not nice people or well functioning people but Sharon Osborne made her money, she doesn't live off her husband.
