BlackBean2023 · 27/06/2025 15:48

Just today.

I’ll go first:

a critical analysis of a report I’ve written for work
a shopping list for a bbq tomorrow
To suggest planting ideas in the garden

OP posts:

I’ve never yet used AI in my life!

lochmaree · 27/06/2025 15:49

I’ve never yet used AI in my life!

Me neither. So nothing, as far as I know. Smile

Imicola · 27/06/2025 15:51

I've read multiple news stories about discarded clothing ending up dumped in sensitive ecosystems in other countries and wanted to understand more about the routes it takes to get there, and how to avoid contributing (aside from the obvious of not considering clothes as throwaway/ avoiding fast fashion), so i asked ChatGPT

TheyreLikeUsButRichAndThin · 27/06/2025 15:52

Nothing that I actively sought out but I’m sure have done, such is life - autocorrect and autocomplete I’m sure is some form of AI.
Also come across some AI on my insta feed so I’ve used it for entertainment I suppose.

ETA I’m very much not anti AI and use it perhaps twice a week for work. Just not at work today!

TheAutumnCrow · 27/06/2025 15:52

Nothing.

ForLovingAquaSheep · 27/06/2025 15:54

Rewrote an email for me, visualised designs for my kitchen and I'll ask it to do a bit of technical research for work in laymans terms before I finish up.

TheChosenTwo · 27/06/2025 15:57

Nothing actively as far as I’m aware. I keep reading that it’s terrible for the environment due to the amount of water it takes to cool the machines and it’s not something I’ve ever felt the need to seek out and use so I don’t plan on this changing!

Fundayout2025 · 27/06/2025 15:57

To " paint" my front room in other colours

OurMavis · 27/06/2025 16:01

I'm not in favour of AI because of the jobs that will be lost and because I loathe AI images. However the dam has burst and it's too late.
I find it brilliant for getting to the nitty gritty of a technical problem and for medical stuff.
Today I used it to solve an issue with WiFi calling on my phone.
DH (75) is using it to speed up some computer programming he's doing. Not sure how but I think it's de-bugging.

ImFineItsAllFine · 27/06/2025 16:02

Troubleshooting a software error code at work

Suggesting some changes to a recipe because I couldn't get hold of a couple of the ingredients.

Littap · 27/06/2025 16:02

Using photoshops gen ai, for work to just speed up some editing.

Interesting I think you’re talking about the data centres. My husband is working on a way to use the energy produced by the data centres to heat homes.

Writing python scripts for work!

Ditto. Claude?

Redpeach · 27/06/2025 16:07

Doesn't google use ai

VeryQuaintIrene · 27/06/2025 16:11

Nothing. Writing my own book with my own brain and taking a dim view of autocorrect's erroneous corrections of some of my syntax.

FeministUnderTheCatriarchy · 27/06/2025 16:15

I can see why AI is really helpful, but it is also sad to see it taking over the things I love.

I adore reading and I like to write as a hobby (working on my own novel to self publish) and when I go on Kindle unlimited I can see authors I used to love, now clearly having AI help. It has taken the soul and the humanity out of their work.

I also tutor English and some students are now just doing it with AI.
Sure, it can be okay... But they sound like little robots and they don't gain the ability to have natural sounding, conversational English in the way they do when working with a human.

AI will quickly replace me and people like me, and I don't think it's for the better.

Writing python scripts for work!

Hah, I've been amending python scripts written by a colleague/ChatGPT to make them more efficient/elegant

SpringHasSprungGrassIsRizIWonder · 27/06/2025 16:19

I've done my "colours" got it to suggest a capsule wardrobe based on them to fit my lifestyle.

Asked it to explain a complex paper I was reading, with lots of back and forth until I understood the concept and was able to explain the flaws in the research method.

Got it to suggest make a packing list for dd to tick off from a blurry screenshot that she had for her cadet residential.

Ilikewinter · 27/06/2025 16:20

I asked ChatGPT to do a water colour painting of the dog..... have to say I'm quite impressed!

Newblackdress · 27/06/2025 16:21

I hope nothing but it’s hard to tell nowadays

Dominoeffecter · 27/06/2025 16:22

Nothing, I’ve only ever used it once to see what my cats would look like as humans.

Squirrelblanket · 27/06/2025 16:22

To summarise a report into a few bullet points to share with colleagues at work.

MaryGreenhill · 27/06/2025 16:24

Replying to my friends boring diatribe about her life from her messages.Honestly if you had her you would do it too .
Think ten very long messages about her life and her bf and her dogs and her just b and the worst of all her health anxiety. In one message she had queried breast cancer , detached retinas , Melanoma, headaches querying a brain tumour , a sore throat , her knees and her whole body aching and hurting her . She's type 2 diabetic . She sends me every blood sugar reading. She has varicose veins and her one leg is swollen from it but that's not from the varicose vein, could it be heartbreaking failure .
Honestly she's a n absolute nightmare and Chat GPT is just amazing and does me a synopsis to every message and then does me a reply . I read the reply and edit the message and send it

Lithiumday · 27/06/2025 16:24

To outline my garbled thoughts in response to an unfair decision at work. I had so many points to raise I couldn't coherently address them so I just word-vomited into chatGPT and asked it to critique it for clarity, brevity and repetition

Saved me hours of anguish
