Finishing off Starry Night today. I thought the second half starting with the frame would be a bit dull, but it's definitely got a few bags you need to focus on

Has anyone done the motorized lighthouse and, if so, what do you think?

DH and I both big Lego fans and I am looking for something for him for Christmas. He has done pretty much all the NASA related ones I think, Space Shuttle, Saturn V, Artemis launcher etc.

I did toy with the idea of getting him the Concorde but the light house caught my eye.

Last year he got me Notre Dame which was bliss so he deserves something special!

LegoTherapy · 10/11/2025 18:01

@5foot5it looks a nice build and impressive size wise. Have a look at online blog reviews on YouTube to get the best opinions.

Ds and I are starting instruction book 3 of 3 for the ninjago city markets. The two bases are now joined and the bridge is on and it looks really impressive. Where are we going to put it? No idea! I’ve said it might be a good idea to focus on lighting kits for the winter sets next year. Lego need to release less sets!

JoshLymanSwagger · 11/11/2025 07:05

@5foot5 have a look on John Lewis website - they've some offers and I'm pretty sure the Lighthouse is one of them.

LegoTherapy · 11/11/2025 07:13

Also there’s a Lego insiders weekend the weekend after next and there will hopefully be special offers on for sets that are retiring.

Thanks. I did look and it was on offer but, alas, put of stock.

Actually I am now leaning more towards the Endeavour

JoshLymanSwagger · 11/11/2025 13:29

@LegoTherapy Do you think the Home Alone one might be included?🙏🏻 Not sure I can avoid the "twitch" between now and then - too many sleeps, or nights with insomnia. 🥱😴
Just ordered the Gingerbread House and the Alpine Lodge for DH and the Cats 😹🤦🏻‍♀️

LegoTherapy · 11/11/2025 13:52

I don’t think Hone Alone is returning but there should be a gift with purchase or two hopefully. My plan is the Christmas tree and orient express. The Alpine Lodge was a nice build and I’ve got the latest gingerbread house tucked away.

JoshLymanSwagger · 12/11/2025 07:22

@MissIonX If you still want the HP Hogwarts Castle, it's 299 on Argos website.

JaceLancs · 21/11/2025 23:07

Just finished the ice rink from the Chinese celebration range - it was a fun build and will go with our Christmas displays when I get round to getting them

That’s lovely @JaceLancs

It’s lego insiders weekend. There double points, gifts with purchase and some big reductions on some sets. I’ve ordered the Orient Express and the Christmas tree. I did it in two separate orders to get two lots of GWPs.

A hundred years after the fact but I finished the botanical garden this week. Here’s a little bug on a maple (?) tree.

I like the little stall GWP available at the moment but not any of the current sets! Waiting til Jan. Asked for Lego vouchers for my birthday.

Lilym4y · 22/11/2025 10:06

Hi all,
Fairly new to Lego, after watching my OH build the Lamborghini Sian and the Ferrari Daytona, decided to have a look and bought the van Gogh sunflowers. I’m hooked!

I’ve done the Milky Way galaxy and have just bought the Willy wonka and got the hot chocolate stand as GWP, so pleased as it’s also 4x points 😊
I’m thinking of getting cases for the wall art as they will soon be full of cobwebs!
Anyone got any recommendations please?

That looks an amazing build. My birthday is in January so might start dropping some hints for Lego vouchers.

JoshLymanSwagger · 22/11/2025 20:59

@Lilym4y I have cases on mine (2 x mad cats and lego don't mix) I've got some Wicked Brick cases, but they've changed their format so all the "people" are on studs at the front now, and I don't like that. I've started to buy Brick In It. These have slightly bigger "nuts n bolts" to fix the boxes together, but they do the job just as well IMHO and they're less expensive.

Lilym4y · 22/11/2025 21:06

@JoshLymanSwagger Thanks, I’ll check those out.

JoshLymanSwagger · 22/11/2025 21:09

And...I've bought the Boutique Hotel plus the Brick in it case (with saved up points/discounts, etc) for less than just the hotel yesterday.
So, at the mo, for Christmas I've got Assembly Square, Boutique Hotel, Santa Gingerbread house, and a freebie to build - DH may have to cook his own lunch 😹.
He "helped" put the Alpine Lodge together over the last couple of days. 😱🤦🏻‍♀️

JoshLymanSwagger · 22/11/2025 21:24

@Lilym4y I know they do some wall mounted cases - the cars would look fantastic in those <envy face>
I daren't start buying cars.
There's only so much wall space to battle with my cross stitch:)

Lilym4y · 22/11/2025 21:24

Well, you’ve got to get your priorities right 😊. Good haul though.

JoshLymanSwagger · 22/11/2025 21:31

@Lilym4y I somehow stumbled upon a bargain for Assembly Sq. It's now £100+ more on the same website. Shock
Don't even ask about the enormous list of cross stitch kits I have to do...or the knitting...🤦🏻‍♀️

Lilym4y · 22/11/2025 21:32

Cross stitch has been my main hobby for years. I have so many that need frames (and too many that are not quite finished), so I understand the battle for wall space 🤣
