Ok, put loads of stuff up on Vinted. All clothing items and all posted the next day in those grey plastic postage bags with the self adhesive strip, you know the ones that most clothing items you purchase will come in. One of my items arrived to the buyer with a hole ripped in the plastic which (looked like it had obvs got caught on something) and it had damaged the item inside. This has obviously happened in transit via the postage service (it was either Evri or Yodel). Vinted gave the buyer a refund but has left me out of pocket saying I hadn’t packaged the item properly. I am fuming! I have tried to explain the situation to them but they are having none of it! Arrrggghhh!!! I guess the AIBU is should I expect to receive some compensation?

You might be able to get compensation from Evri/Yodel but not from Vinted. In future, I would recommend bubble wrap or another bag before putting in the postage bag.

If anything is over £5 I always put it in a box as Vinted won't refund for damage unless it's in a box.

I don't understand why you are fuming?

If you were the buyer, wouldn't you want a refund for an item that arrived damaged?

It's quite clear that the packaging didn't sufficiently protect the contents. None of this was the fault of either the seller, or of Vinted. The fault can only lie with the courier or yourself, or a bit of both. Have you tried taking this up with the courier?

I always double bag for this reason. Usually use recycled packaging. For anything over £5 I parcel up really carefully.

Was it double bagged? If not they'll say it wasn't packaged correctly. Latest vinted scam is people saying the bag arrived empty, and if you don't have proof it was double bagged then vinted refund the buyer 🤬.
