All body deodorant

Just seen that advert again for Sure All Body Deodorant. Am I the only one who gets a bit annoyed by it?

Has it now become a thing that we need to deodorise our entire bodies? My body doesn’t stink, and whilst I use deodorant under my arms because otherwise it might, I resent the idea that we have to chemically enhance ourselves to fit in socially.

Hopefully people will realise that this is an unnecessary scam and it will go away.

Ah I didn’t know about the other thread.

But I agree about the advert. I hate the product but the actual advert is horrible. I thought the On The Beach advert last year with the fat family and the ‘booking brilliant’ hilarious wordplay was my least favourite advert. But these guys have surpassed it. Like adverts created by Peter Kay’s weakest gag-writer.

Fat family? They weren’t a fat family!

Larger boob woman here...
I've been using it for several weeks under my boob's and it makes a difference! Definitely not as sweaty!

But it’s a deodorant not an anti perspirant? That won’t stop you sweating.

Disturbia81 · 24/06/2025 19:56

I think it’s a good idea, people are stinky even after showers.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 24/06/2025 19:58

I used it for under arms, it smells really nice but doesn't last the day.

Deodorant is a GOOD thing, you only have to go on public transport to know this!

Are you kidding me? The lad and dad are huge, guts flapping around unnecessarily 🤢

Yabu. I work a physical job in very sweaty conditions. If I didn’t use all body safe deo my upper thighs front and back (groin area) would stink to the high heavens, even just after having a shower. I’m 5’ 3” and 130 lbs so only a bit overweight. But I’m 61, and you stink as you get older.
You don’t have to use it!

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 24/06/2025 20:14

I have a friend who's very happy she can use something under her spare tyre/c-section overhang - she says it gets sweaty and smells like BO by the end of the day. I've got no reason to doubt her, it's not much different to an armpit after all (damp fold of skin, hairy). I've never noticed a smell, but she's aware of it and seemingly talc isn't enough in the summer, and I assume underarm antiperspirant wouldn't be ideal so close to her pubic area.

It's easy to say 'skin shouldn't smell'. However, my pits would definitely by whiffy by the end of the day if I didn't use antiperspirant. But I don't have fungal armpits. Skin touching skin plus sweat can result in body odour - so it isn't odd that some people will notice other folds and points of skin-to-skin contact around their body might be a bit less than shower fresh by the end of the day. I have no problem with people doing whatever helps to keep them smelling better.

@Dontlletmedownbruce

There are serious health dangers in using talc. I don’t know what you are using but I strongly recommend you research this and find a replacement.

Please tell me you’ve seen the lynx one with crotch and arse spray. Unbelievable.

I came on to say this. I mean it's grim enough as a concept anyway, but all the bum and crotch sniffing in the advert is too much!

SociableAtWork · 25/06/2025 08:09

OMG - this is going to give all the people who already don’t wash/shower enough an accuse to go a few more days without😭

** Lighthearted because I know some people can’t wash/shower often for many reasons (mental health, cost, access etc). However, there are some people on my train who are just lazy about personal hygiene and this will make them worse.

ThePoshUns · 25/06/2025 08:45

Yes @SociableAtWorkcannot wait to be stood behind their smelly arses in the supermarket queue

CoopeyMum · 27/06/2025 22:55

Vile advert. I'm having serious trouble with Teenage DSD and showering at the moment and these adverts are everywhere, basically suggesting that it's acceptable to cover the smell rather than eliminate. Since when is it okay to apply perfumes to delecate areas?

Just shower regularly for goodness sake!!!
