I mean what 2yo can pronounce (and what 31yo can spell?)
ninkynonk?
pontypine?
tomblyboos?
pinkyponk?

It may be cute to hear their varients but at least yuo could pronounce La la and Po.

they probably think they're being funny and ironic.

get them trumpton videos

KaySamuels · 23/05/2008 22:28

I have found toddlers weirdly able to pronounce all these concoctions

It is strangely hypnotising and brainwashing to them I think.

Divastrop · 23/05/2008 22:30

be thankful you get to watch cbeebies instead of cbbc.at least in the shite garden has pleasant music rather than endless NOISE

MrsTittleMouse · 23/05/2008 22:32

DD (18 months) has a good go at them. She could say "iggle piggle" before she could say "granny".

pinkyp · 23/05/2008 22:33

i think mr tumble is great

Miaou · 23/05/2008 22:34

Hmm, well my 2.10 year old says nink nonk, Pontypine, Tom Boos and pink ponk, but then he also says Bob Didler, Postmat, and Dubba Dubbas so it's not just limited to ITNG

kittywise · 23/05/2008 22:34

why does this bother you?

kittywise · 23/05/2008 22:35

yeah , I love mr tumble ( not really, obviously, like, you know what I mean!)

SlightlyMadSweet · 23/05/2008 22:35

cos DD3 is frsutrated that she can't say pinkyponk (th elittle red men things?) and tomblyboos...

MrsTittleMouse · 23/05/2008 22:36

That's true. DD is a big fan of the "bob-bob-ogs".

queen2shoes · 23/05/2008 22:36

mr tumble is king. but I have never got all this made up talk. surely small people(and my dd who maybe 13 but has sn) should be encouraged to talk properly.

SlightlyMadSweet · 23/05/2008 22:38

I know they are all character names, so being made up is not an issue to me. But come on lets have 1 or 2 happy sounding syllables.

Instead we get about 30 syllables and a name which sounds like it belongs to a tin can.

It doesn't matter!

Divastrop · 23/05/2008 22:50

my 2.5 year old dd says 'it's stoooo-pid!' excitedly when stupid comes on.poor child has no knowledge of the innocent cbeebies.

Miaou · 23/05/2008 23:00

lol, I make my older ones watch cbeebies divastrop (actually they prefer it, dd1 (almost 11)rushes to make sure she has done all her chores in the morning so that she has time to watch Charlie and Lola before she goes to school )
