To think we should have been warned scaffolding would be outside our window?

We live in a block of flats. All owned by same owner/same agent. We live on the fourth floor.

Have come home after work to find scaffolding directly outside our bedroom window! We had left window open as fourth floor no one can get in. Bed not made. Panties and bra on the floor in view etc

What is the work? Aren’t you curious about that?

Thirdcoff · 23/06/2025 19:07

Yes I’d have expected to be notified about the works

but had I not, I wouldn’t have been too fussed

gapso · 23/06/2025 19:07

Of course! No idea what the works are. No mention from agents. Could be in for a summer of noise

OP posts:
Thirdcoff · 23/06/2025 19:09

I’d be more alarmed that substantial works are taking place and I have not been advised of it
Is it roof work?

either way, as I say, not too fussed about it
it is up now anyway 🤷‍♀️

Thirdcoff · 23/06/2025 19:10

Instead of a mumsnet thread, I’d have dropped a quick email to agents asking for clarification as to what work is taking place and when due for completion

Movinghouseatlast · 23/06/2025 19:12

You lost me at panties.

And maybe that's been done but it isn't what the OP is asking, wouldn't most people be annoyed to come home to find their home covered in scaffolding they had no knowledge of?

Especially with an open window

It isn’t a choice between one or the other.

Ddakji · 23/06/2025 19:15

That’s pretty rubbish. My auntie’s block is covered in scaffolding but she had clear notice and there’s an information sheet on the notice board in the communal hall.

Speak to the agent.

SilviaSnuffleBum · 23/06/2025 19:17

YABVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVU for 'panties'. 🤮

Nah. Not this one!

TinyTempest · 23/06/2025 19:20

Christ, I thought it was only my 90 year old aunt who uses the word 'panties'?? 🤮

Either way OP, I wouldn't worry about that but I would complain you weren't informed about any work being done.

MoriftedinaFrenchEscapeRoom · 23/06/2025 19:25

Panties. Yuk.
