Just for a bit of interest/fun and because I'm nosey and would like to know about life in different parts of the world. I'll start...

I'm mid/late 30s, live in NW England, UK. 3dc.
Weather is dull. It's been raining today but has warmed up again a little. The thunderstorms forecast yesterday missed us. I live in a city and I hate it. We're very close to the countryside but as a farmers daughter I am struggling with city living.
News/media is full of Iran/Israel conflict. Not sure what to think myself but trying not to get too invested into watching/reading about it.

Dh and I have and need two cars. Both cars have broken down this weekend, one (dh car) is currently not running. My car is running but unsure how long for. Currently trying to work out how to navigate getting everyone to school, work and various activities this week.
I need to lose a few more pounds, maybe a dress size but I'm starting (for the first time in my life) to enjoy the gym.

Currently lying on the sofa, legs over dh who is watching a car man on YouTube, dcs are all upstairs and I'm pondering what's happening around the world!

You?!

Poll... YABU - don't even ask me, I don't want to share anything, get lost and don't ask again
YANBU - I love learning about people and their lives and would love to share a snippet!

I also live in SE England. Today I was prescribed HRT, finally, and then got some rather awful looking highlights to try to blend my grey hair. On a happier note, my sweet cat is sitting in the window sill guarding the street.

Live in Wales.
Am 39 and single, no children, just me and the dog.
I’m up late as have been prepping a presentation for work tomorrow.

I’m having what might turn into a mid life crisis. Can’t decide whether to stick where I am (comfortable job, beautiful countryside), move closer to family (bit lonely, possibly enhance CV, but it would be a gamble) or go for the wildcard and look for ‘something else’ in my career - shake things up a bit, and move to make it happen.

I am just feeling torn.

@Emanes go for the wild card and shake things up a bit. (I’m also having a mid life crisis, similar kind of decisions I guess)

I'm 67 retired, live on the East Yorkshire coast with my partner and two dogs. Woke up and took the dogs around the block to go to the toilet as neither like going in the garden and we are trying to help our lawn. Had morning coffee, fed the dogs, had breakfast, read my book, did some housework, went to docs with partner, went shopping. Home for lunch, then we all went for a walk along the cliffs and down onto the beach. Into the sea with one of the dogs, ice cream, home. Sat in the sun for a bit, fed the dogs, drank g&t in the garden. Partner cooked, I watered the garden. Watched TV. Ate dinner.

Late 40s, British, living in a mega city in China.

The plum rains are coming and going - of course it rained ALL last weekend without a break and now we are all back at work it is gloriously sunny and warm. I walked to work this morning past the local park where older ladies meet every day, weather permitting, and dance together. They wear a different colour floaty skirt every day and they look so beautiful dancing by the lake.

I'm gearing up to travel again - I've taken over 30 flights in the past year - but this time it's for a long holiday (with a bit of WFH) to Europe so it feels different this time, in a lovely way. I'm looking forward to seeing my family, especially spending time with my eldest DD who has just finished her first year at uni and it's felt like I have lost a limb, I miss her so much.

Life in China is pretty good most of the time - it's super safe and the cost of living is really low. But I'm a bit lonely and miss the shared culture small talk you get in the UK - chatting with a cabbie etc.

What a lovely thread by the way - so interesting to get a glimpse into other lives.

Definitely wildcard option.

I emigrated as a 35 year-old single woman (much to DM’s horror - “but… but… don’t you want to get married first?!”)

It’s never too late to shake things up!

A new A/C was installed yesterday. The foster kitties were very excited to meet the man who installed it (Isaac), and followed him all over the house. As you can see, they're exhausted from their efforts.

So many people living overseas. I feel very boring! Late 40s, work as a yoga and Pilates instructor which is all I’ve done since I had DC, one who has just done A-levels and one in yr 12. SE England in a really boring town I don’t like but we aren’t sure where to move to next, waiting for DC to start and finish university before we make the move. Married 22 years. Life is good, I have a lot of free time, healthy and fit, DC are happy and having fun, and enough money for holidays and gigs (but there could always be more!)

I am very fortunate.

Great thread.
60, retired and live in a village on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border. Would normally be mucking out my 3 ponies at this time of day, but currently myself and husband having a couple of days away on North Yorkshire coast. Very windy, but sunny and warm. Hotel room overlooking the sea . Enjoying being lazy for a change.

I'm in my 40s from Australia. Live just North of Sydney. Am recovering after getting really sick and needing life saving open heart surgery as well as vascular surgery on my leg (would have lost the use of my leg otherwise).
Spent a few months in hospital including two stays in intensive care for a few weeks. I was very very sick. I have been at home for a couple of months now and after coming so close to death I'm so grateful to be alive and to live in a country that offers free healthcare that can be life changing and life saving. At the moment my goal is to get better so I'm concentrating on that. It can be a slow process but I'm getting there. Main thing is I'm alive.
