Or is the humidity making anyone else's hair insane?

It's impossible.
Not perfect generally, but it has never ever looked this bad. All of my usual techniques to smooth it are just busted, as soon as I wash it, whether I leave it to dry naturally or blow dry it, it has turned into a fuzzy nightmare.

I don't need product recommendations, although I was fussing about it earlier - it was bloody just fine before the heat set in in this house! It had shine!

Now it looks like I am auditioning for the Muppet show.

Yes! It just makes me think of Monica 😂

Missedthis · 22/06/2025 07:22

Yes. Mine is wild. Embracing it, with some salt spray to make it look deliberate is the only way.

Thingamebobwotsit · 22/06/2025 07:59

Yes. Looks awful. And no amount of product is preventing it from looking dry and frizzy within 30 mins. Hair currently tied back permanently with hair spray. Not attractive and a waste of a good cut and colour a couple of weeks ago, but the alternative isn't great right now!

mumonthehill · 22/06/2025 08:03

Mine seems to get bigger and bigger as the day goes on!! I am putting on cantu cream then resort to putting it up when it feels too awful!

Aparecium · 22/06/2025 08:43

Mine's going the other way. I'm getting such a sweaty head that by evening I look like I've dunked my hair in a chip pan. OTOH it does mean I have to wash my hair far more often than I normally would. Which makes it wildly frizzy - until my head gets sweaty again. Vicious cycle. Makes me want to get a pixie cut.

glassof · 22/06/2025 10:07

Well here are my people!! I came in fron the garden yesterday eve and my dh snorted, actual snort laugh at my hair!! I hadn't put product in as I was just putting it in a bun anyway so it was particularly wild! It's washed, blow dried and styled with product now so looking much more presentable!

@PersephoneParlormaid that's so funny you said that because I've been overcompensating with a gigantic Rachel-esque hat to keep my frizz in check....

😭😭 sorry girl

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 22/06/2025 10:30

Dutch plaits are my answer to that problem. Nice and tidy, and don’t make me hot.

UltraProcessedLifeGoals · 22/06/2025 13:17

Problem with mine is even the little baby hairs are fuzzed up.
Can't lock them back in a braid!

The entire outer layer looks like porous sponge. It is so depressing.

Prior to the heat, i could pull off a shiny-ish blow dry and swish with the rest of em!

I think the only solution is closing the cuticle - at one time i would run ghd's over the top layer to remedy this, but don't have any now.

Are those things any better these days or still ruining hair? (shuffles over to web search)..

I’ve got short, straight hair in a 1920s style bob, usually pretty smooth and shiny. But in this weather? No. In this weather it inexplicably becomes a weird 1980s hair with random waves, a strange trapezoid fringe and weird rogue hairs poking out all over the place. Awful.

Mydadsbirthday · 22/06/2025 15:53

I had a blow dry on Tuesday and by Thursday it was a frizzy mess. Normally I can make it last a week
