Hello

posting here as don’t know where else to put it…

Weds I started to feel a throbbing pain in my right hand side. It felt like it was in my ovary. I’m ovulating and it’s not uncommon for me to kind of feel the swelling of the ovary until the egg releases (believe it or not but I do!). Ovulation mucus been going on all week when usually 3 days. Tummy swollen/bloated.

By Friday morning I was in agony and couldn’t walk with the pain. Friday night went to a&e (after GP phone consultation and trip to walk in centre), bloods showed no infection and doc said he thinks it’s a gynae thing. Probably a cyst on my ovary.

i have PCOS but have never experienced anything like this. I’m now petrified it’s going to happen each month. I’m also scared as doc felt quite dismissive and said even if it is cysts, the fine team can’t do anything for you just pain killers. Which feels scary! I have two kids under 6 I can’t live like this every month!

has anyone else experienced anything like this?! Any info/advice welcome!

to make it aibu relevant….aibu to be petrified of this pain happening again!!!!????

I had a cyst that would come and go, I didn't know what it was, I was just in a lot of pain.

On my third emergency admission they did an US and found a cyst the size of a grapefruit.

I talked over the options and decided to have the ovary removed. It was a simple op.

I was early 50s so no plans for children.

Follow up with your GP and get a gynae referral.

Definitely back to GP and ask for gynae referral and scan.

My DD had been getting regular cysts on her ovaries. Started the Pill and they seem to have stopped.
