am I able to make an appointment with our GP to discuss what’s just happened with my 2 year old?

child became poorly Sunday night, high temp 38-39, came down with ibuprofen but not with paracetamol. Was sick once early hours Monday morning. Picked up throughout the day. Temp spiked again Tuesday evening, vomitted bile once Tuesday early hours even though she had drank normally all day. Called 111 at 4.30am as child seemed abit delirious, nobody called back til 9am the next day - had already made gp appointment.

9.45am gp app doctor noted chest was clear, no obvious signs of infection, but pulse was 179 whilst sat calmly and temp 38.9. Was sent to the children’s ward.

blood test was done crp levels came back as 175. Blood culture positive, iv antibiotics started. Picked up very quickly. Next day x ray which showed a patch on lung. She had never so much as coughed, no wheezing, not snotty etc.

3 nights in hospital on iv antibiotics and discharged home with cannula to receive more antibiotics for the next 2 days.

blood results today crp is 35 so cannula can be removed. Nobody has explained to me much, just a lower respiratory infection? I’m so scared of this happening again as she hasn’t coughed or wheezed at all. Oxygen levels normal range. Just very quick pulse, high temp, and X-ray showing this patch. This came on out of nowhere. Does anyone know what this could have been? She seems to catch everything that’s going around and when she does catch something she becomes very poorly with it, is there any test to check her immune system?

thank you for reading

I'd ask for a telephone appointment OP.
