I can't find a hi-vis wetsuit for love nor money! Would a rash vest work?

So, water safety suggests that for swimwear kids in particular should wear neon yellow/green/pink, to be seen under water.

I'm trying to find a shortie wetsuit for my 6 year old that matches that advice. Can only find some with partial sleeves/front only etc

Cannot find one. So could she just wear a neon yellow rash vest over her wetsuit? Or do you think it would ride up?

Plenty of wetsuits have decent bright flashes on them.

It might not work for your scenario but for boogie boarding (when there are hundreds of wetsuits in the sea) I get the kids to wear US basketball vests as they are bright colours, have a big number on the back, you can size them to be tight and the material doesn't get water logged/drag

I don't think that a hi vis wetsuit would help in the sea. If they go under, you wouldn't see them like in a pool. She's only 6 so presumably you will be pretty much next to her at all times anyway?

It's not letting me add the link but LOMO do a kids wetsuit with hi viz arms in orange.

A lot of the kids Orca wetsuits have bright orange arms for this reason. Failing that just put a brightly coloured t shirt on top, I'm assuming they aren't planning on swimming any open water races so I wouldn't worry about the drag or anything like that. All the surf schools I know do the bright t shirt over the wetsuit trick.

My dd wore an orange ‘finding Nemo’ rash vest over her swimmers for years. It didn’t ride up.

Why isn't she child being fully supervised? She's very young to be going in rough sea and shouldn't be in canals etc, were an undercurrent will take her fast.
