Meat knife

Should I say sorry and tell DH I over reacted?

I cut up the raw meat for a BBQ with a sharp knife and put it in the sink once I was done.

DH was being good and was prepping all the bread. I had a proper sinking moment when I saw him using the same knife. I asked you wash that knife properly right as it had meat on it? He said he picked it up and just gave it a little wipe with the kitchen cloth (no soap / hot water etc)

I freaked out a bit and said I don’t think I can eat it. I’m scared about giving the kids food poisoning. Luckily we had enough bread buns to start again but now I’m worried I was a bit OTT?

I wouldn’t have cared necessarily but probably would have been more cautious with kids involved- depending on what meat it was?

DH was ‘being good’ 🤣?!

Seconded. Is doing basic meal prep considered “being good” in your household? Is that not the responsibility of all adults?

Tbf I would be quite annoyed that he didn’t get a fresh knife. Shouldn’t he use maybe, idk, the bread knife??

I wouldn't have eaten the bread, and definitely wouldn't give it to kids.

I would absolutely not have eaten that bread.
