Parcel misdelivered to THAT neighbour

Not necessarily an AIBU I just need to rant a bit.

Ordered some bras online with next day delivery, got a notification that the order had been delivered but no sign of the parcel and no knock on the door from the postie. Checked the tracking and its been delivered to the wrong house. Didnt get a sorry we missed you card and we dont have deliver to a neighbour as our safe place so its definitely Royal Mails fault.

We live in a small village and the parcel could have been delivered to anyone and I would have been able to nip round and get it.. except from the neighbour its been delivered to. He is a bit of a recluse, only ever see him smoking weed in his garden or occasionally at the pub. We have been trying to get a fence repaired and he never answers the door to discuss it, IMHO I think its a control thing with the fence, according to a friend this guy is very controlling and has had Police attend for DV prior to his ex leaving him.

Anyway.. Ive knocked on the door 3 times (will be trying again today) and no answer. I needed the bras for holiday and we go away tomorrow. Im thinking of posting a note asking him to drop the parcel at the bottom of the drive or even chuck it through the hole in the fence. My other neighbour doesn't think I will get the parcel from him... not sure what a single man in his 60's will do with 2 bras!!

I've checked the delivery address for the order and its correct so should be able to get my money back.. but really I just want my bras!

I would reorder if there is time foe it to arrive and make a complaint to Royal Mail to recover the costs of the first order. Will he answer thw door to anyone? Presumably he must have to have gotten the parcel in the first place? Can you get someone else to knock if he is specifically avoiding you?

We leave tomorrow lunchtime so no time to re-order. Going to try and get to next today to see what they have. I need a deep v neck strapless bra, the one I ordered looked perfect. 🤞 next will have something similar!

Randomly, in the post Christmas lull, wondering what happened in the end OP?

I'm sorry, I've just snorted my coffee down my shirt.

I used to drive HGVs for Debenhams. About an hour into the group training session we got to the hanging garment bit. How to lift the sets without damaging them, how to recognise department tags etc.

"Plesse do not use the lingerie for sexual relief, buy your own. We sacked a guy eight months ago."

Incidentally, if you bought stuff from them after 2014-ish and it smelled sweaty, it's because they took the shrouds off to save money. I use to finish a delivery soaked from neck to hem in summer.
