In the UK, approximately 40 to 50 children (0-17 years) die each year from drowning. This makes drowning the third leading cause of accidental death for children in the UK.

I have just finished listening to the most heartbreaking story of a 3 year old child drowning. His mother had now dedicated her life to talking to her followers about pool safety.

Please listen to her story, and don’t leave your children unattended near a pool for even a minute. Maybe sharing this here will save even one child and family this summer, from experiencing the heartbreak that Garretts family have had to endure. 🙏

Yes, I'm always so horrified how many stories of drownings there are, it's shocking and so avoidable

@Greyskies92 it is so preventable, but such an easy mistake for perfectly capable, loving parents to make. Which is why I think it’s so important to be reminded to be extra vigilant. No matter how strong or confident a swimmer.
