Asking for recommendations of villages to live in?

Recommendations for a location of my dreams.

  • Rural
  • village type location but close enough drive to a town with the usual shops.
  • good local equestrian scene, nice yards and nice countryside off road riding.
  • Good schools

so basically I want to live in the countryside but with all the amenities of a town in close proximity.

I currently live in South Hampshire, 30 minutes from a city centre, in a suburb close to the countryside but very close to major shops however there is less and less open space and every local stables is disappearing to make way for new build estates left, right and centre.

im wondering if there is somewhere out there with more space!

It depends where in the country you want to live. I’m in rural County Durham and there’s plenty of villages which would fit your list. Also plenty in Northumberland too.

Anywhere in UK? The little villages around Cambridge and East Anglia are all beautiful, rural, close enough to stations and easy access to Cambridge centre. Great schools. Good equestrian scene.
