To think that the email address on the councils invoice should accept all emails!

I don't think I am being unreasonable but maybe I am.

I have just paid a county council invoice and tried to email them a remittance slip (it's for work) to the email address on their invoice

It bounced back with this:

Your message to [email protected] couldn't be delivered.

The group admin only accepts messages from people in its organization or on its allowed senders list, and your email address isn't on the list.

I made up that email address. I did call, and the lady I spoke to took my message and the details of the remittance to pass on.

YABU - they don't want emails and that's fine
YANBU - Why list that email address if it won't work

They probably need a disclaimer or similar under the email.

I get a lot of emails that say at the bottom, do not reply to this email as it is not monitored

But they should have had some info for you

My pet hate.

Companies that email you - usually to bark an order at you - and then stop you replying coz they don't wanna hear what you've got to say.

I get that at the bottom of emails. I was given the invoice from one of our employees.

Their address and phone number are on the invoice then right under it is there email address which won't accept emails!!

Yanbu. I tried to email someone in a big organisation the other day and got a very similar bounce back. Utterly frustrating when it's a professional context
