What's your job?

Poopeepoopee · 16/06/2025 15:49

Yes that is a bit shit. What do you do?

Upsetbetty · 16/06/2025 15:50

Well it all depends on what you do and the hours you work I suppose?

K0OLA1D · 16/06/2025 15:51

Depends on what you do/hours etc. I'm not on too much more and its not shit for where I live.

But on mn everyone is on 6 figures soo...

RedBeech · 16/06/2025 15:52

How old are you?
How long have you been on this pay grade?
What hours do you do?
What opportunities do you have for pay progression either in this company or in your career with another company?

scotchbonnetface · 16/06/2025 15:54

I’m Manchester and on similar. I’m qualified in my industry but unless i go self employed, which is risky, I’ll probably be on a low salary forever!

i feel like £40k pa would make a massive difference

greencartbluecart · 16/06/2025 15:55

For a 20 something it’s a good salary
for a none skilled job it’s good
for a 50 year old in a highly skilled , strsssful role in London it’s crap

and that is separate from how much you like your job

less time on here and more time job hunting

MellowPinkDeer · 16/06/2025 15:58

There are so many variables here. I guess the most important question is , can you afford to live. Because of you can, does it matter ?

Blackbookofsmiles1 · 16/06/2025 16:00

Work full time and on less than that with a mortgage and dependants. Even on 29k I wouldn’t be happy though, it’s shit money, I have decades of experience but appears irrelevant when it comes to pay.

Average in Birmingham in 2024 was £33,225. So dependent on your sector, skill level and seniority, make of that what you will.
