posting for traffic as I’m stressing out so much about this bloody concert now!

Has anyone been before with tweens? I’m regretting booking tickets but also strangely excited! It’s been years since I went to a festival. No worries when I was younger but now I’m late 40’s and not sure I can handle a full day of standing, navigating crowds and worried about getting home (will travel by train as not in London).

my kids are 10 & almost 13, tickets are for daughters 13th.

I’m worried about what time to get there as it starts at 2pm but finishes at 10pm! We booked to see Olivia Rodrigo (daughters are crazy about her), but heard the main act doesn’t come on until around 8-8.30pm!

Any advice from those who are going or have been before? Thank you!

We went but it was a while ago. We took a blanket to sit on, there was plenty of space. I'd got the tickets free so there was less pressure when all the food and drink were ridiculous prices but we really enjoyed it

POTC · 16/06/2025 00:00

Oh, and it must have rained because there's a photo of us all in rain macs but I have no memory of that, just of watching mcbusted and drinking coconut water straight from a coconut 😅

Download the BST app - it will tell you the line up and times they will be on. The main act is usually 8.30/8.45 ish. If you need to get out fast, work your way towards an exit while OR is on, the queues to get out move quite quickly, but it's heaving and as they close Marble Arch station it's all a bit busy.

narcASD · 16/06/2025 00:11

Ah thank you! I can imagine drinks / food being extortionate! Mind you do were our tickets! Do you get there when the gates open? I’ll bring a blanket & poncho’s just in case. I know they are very strict on what you can take in.

I tried and failed to get tickets for this!

When I was planning, I’d decided to get a hotel as travel after with tweens felt too hard. Is that an option?

which area are your tickets for?

narcASD · 16/06/2025 00:12

@Eastendboysandwestendgirlsthank you that’s helpful, love your username!

@Scarydinosaursi had to buy the tickets from resale which were ridiculously overpriced, they are just standing general admission sadly, a hotel is a great idea! I will look into that maybe a premier inn or something

I never went until around 8pm last year for Kylie - so somewhere in between gate opening and last minute to suit you?

Scarydinosaurs · 16/06/2025 00:39

Yes definitely try premier inn, there are a few nearby and it will make the end a lot less stressful for you!

Hi, I took my daughter when she was 8 to BST, were going back on Friday to see Olivia, it was fine honestly, maybe start heading out about 10.10 and you'll avoid a lot of the crowds, walking back to station wasn't too bad at all. We will get there early and chill outside with a picnic and then head inside around 6 ish. Hope you have fun, we were lucky to see her back in may last year,

narcASD · 25/06/2025 21:34

@Gemmorris82thank you! We are going Friday too, it says she’s due on stage around 8.50pm so my original plan of getting there when gates open has been squashed, probably head in about 5/6pm, we will probably do the same as you, eat outside and go in a bit later.

@narcASD Just wondering how it went? We are going to BST this Friday - me and older teen. We're not from the UK but are spending a few days in London (first time there).

narcASD · 08/07/2025 08:09

@Weirdaf1 it was ok, much like I imagined, cramped, long queues and expensive 🤣
Stood for several hours in the middle centre waiting for Olivia to come on, my girls loved it, I was exhausted and much prefer an seated arena.
Did you have a good time, how did you find it?

hi were you able to take a blanket in, in the end? Going tomorrow and I wont be able to stand all day, going with a group so we are headed in early, but I and another lady wont manage a full day standing.

narcASD · 12/07/2025 09:17

@BirdsongLightlyyou can take a blanket, there are loads of spaces at the side that you can lay it, they may ask you to move but if you find a spot at the side under the trees you’ll be ok, have fun!

in case it is useful for people still going. Lots of blankets, hardly any shade to speak of, but some around the easern side under the trees where yuo can sit on your lovely blanket (forgot to take mine). Queues for drinks and toilet were not bad (not as bad as other concerts we have been to), water refill stations were great and well used.
