Anyone else finding Mumsnet absolutely unbearable?

Constantly crashing and reloading. Slowing down iPads and phones till you have to restart the machine (doesn’t happen on any other site). Draining battery.

The ads covering the words. The ads on the whole are unbearable and probably causing the issues. Is it just me?

Not my experience- using website on a mobile.

Doggymummar · 15/06/2025 22:18

If you post in site stuff they will try and help you. All good here in android

BrunchBarBandit · 15/06/2025 22:19

Touch wood - it’s all ok using a browser on my phone

ThatNimblePeer · 15/06/2025 22:19

lol I thought this was going to be about rude posters etc not tech issues

steff13 · 15/06/2025 22:22

The ads are fairly obtrusive. They often cover half the page, cause the page to freeze up, etc.

tigger1001 · 15/06/2025 22:23

I use the app on my iPhone and (until now certainly) had no issues

Shedmistress · 16/06/2025 05:03

No, perfectly fine. No ads covering up the whole page at all. Who wants to read the screen anyway?

There have been a few threads on site stuff over the past months with yet another one running currently. There doesn't seem to be any great urgency to fix it. Incredibly frustrating.

Vibgyor · 16/06/2025 05:24

I have the same issue OP. If I try to open a page I am watching it takes forever or crashes. Most frustrating.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/06/2025 05:41

I can't figure out why any threads I'm on and go back to are flipped to oldest first now. Also, frequent white screen flash which I assume is a refresh?

Floatlikeafeather2 · 16/06/2025 05:58

How are you viewing it, @knowifIcando? I have never downloaded the app and that's what most people who complain about these things seem to find issues with. I use the website, mainly on my phone but occasionally on my lap top. The only issue I have is ads sometimes preventing scrolling on my phone but this never happens on the PC.

Surroundedbyidiots57 · 16/06/2025 07:10

Yes. It freezes my ipad and then affects any other use for the next few minutes even if I close mumsnet. I have to close all tabs and restart my ipad before it goes back to normal.
MNHQ are obviously aware as there have been plenty of threads about this in Site Stuff but nothing changes.
It is definitely the enormous and numerous adverts.
I think HQ is not that bothered because it may increase revenue as users have to resort to paying for premium to avoid the adverts in order to be able to use MN without these problems.
I find the advertising bizarre anyway. Does anybody actually look at these ads let alone buy a product because of them?

Shedmistress · 17/06/2025 22:10

Enormous adverts you say...can't say I've seen any.

Every fucking thread. Fucking waste of time

Prettygreeneyes43 · 17/06/2025 22:24

I had this when I used the website on my phone. Downloaded the app and no problems now.

Kittyfur · 17/06/2025 22:24

Yes, it’s incredibly frustrating!!!

ColinOfficeTrolley · 17/06/2025 22:25

I also use a web browser on my phone and don't have any issues. Never used the app

Funnywonder · 17/06/2025 22:31

Having similar issues here. I have all but given up on the iPad app due to various problems, particularly when replying to a thread. But the browser is a pain in the arse too - freezing and crashing etc.
