WIBU to just cut the nap for 21 month old?!

I’ll keep it short! 21 month old girl, very busy and energetic.

She NEVER naps at nursery, she’s enjoying it too much. Consequently she comes home and goes straight to sleep about 6.30/7 and barring illness/regressions/tummy issues she sleeps through or only wakes once.

I dutifully put her down for a 1-1.5 hour nap when she’s home with me around 12 and this means she REFUSES to sleep til 9pm and is fussing frequently at night.

Is it neglectful parenting to just cut the naps out? They make my life so difficult because of the late bedtimes and bad nights. But also she is bloody knackered by like 4.30/5 when she doesn’t nap and it feels a bit cruel to make her power through 🫣

If she doesn’t nap at nursery she probably doesn’t need one. My older two both naturally dropped their naps at this age.

My son was done with naps before 2 and it was surprisingly freeing. Since then he’s been a great sleeper, just needs a bit less sleep than other kids his age - or his big sister for that matter. He’s super energetic and doesn’t tire easily so it’s just a lot easier to keep him busy.
