Naked bike ride

Was in London yesterday: naked bike ride. Fine.. not my thing (or many other women). They finished the ride/protest/whatvever and then conjugated near B palace.. and just seemed to be happy wafting their micro penis’s about for kicks and giggles/

A lot of horrid middle aged naked men kicking about just felt unnecessary.

and 🤮

Please don’t use the ‘survivors of Sexual Abuse’ card when you don’t know who you are interacting with.

It's statistically likely that some of those who don't have an issue with this are survivors

SwimSwamSwimSwam · 16/06/2025 21:45

I wonder how many of you posters would protest that being naked in public is the way forward to their family and friends. Especially those with children.

How is saying that people shouldn’t be publicly naked in front of children is the same as saying people shouldn’t wear shorts or be gay?

Why do you think they are the same?

Why can’t you see that depriving people of choice is the beginning of a very slippery slope?

Because they are all things people claim to be offended by...

I was pretty clear about that

I have no words.

You said I'm saying making the argument the penis should be hidden because it could cause harm is stupid because other things can cause harm and aren't covered

So you sincerely believe this and therefore think that the crime of indecent exposure is not actually a crime?

What are your thoughts on the proven pattern of escalation where indecent exposure is a gateway offence which too often escalates to rape and/or murder?

No

That's not what I'm saying it all

Exposure (there's no indecent Exposure wording in English law) is not the same as simply being naked

TheScentOfElonMusk · 16/06/2025 21:48

BIossomtoes · 16/06/2025 21:45

Why can’t you see that depriving people of choice is the beginning of a very slippery slope?

We deprive people of ‘the choice’ to steal, to be violent, to buy and sell drugs, to commit murder. Why not deprive them of the choice to show their genitalia to children? In fact and in law, they already are deprived of that ‘choice’, unless they’re riding a bike, apparently.

Some will have children

Some will be both

People get ‘triggered’ by all sorts of different things. Survivors of sexual assault may, or may not, be triggered by seeing a naked male person but should we exterminate all snakes, sharks, spiders, or even all other humans just in case they might be or become harmful and/or trigger reactions ?

I don’t see anyone here prioritising ‘men’s rights’ just the rights of all people to be, legally, naked if they wish.

I don’t see anyone here suggesting any man or woman has the right to sexually assault another person.

If anyone is seriously triggered by seeing a penis I would advocate therapy.

Perhaps I should start knitting covers for table legs…..

I knew someone who was a SA survivor who was triggered by people wearing red clothing. I triggered her once because I had red laces in my boots.

Wear slippers instead of expecting the world to be carpeted.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s normal (whatever that means) or not. It’s within the parameters of legal activity. I feel sorry for your children being brought up to believe the naked human body is something shameful.

This is embarrassing for you. If you spoke to my DS he would say we have a really open relationship. I think he's glad I stopped getting my tits out infront of him when he turned a certain age. We talk about everything.

He also would think naked cycling would be funny and uncomfortable 🤣.

It's NOT illegal to just be naked.

Theft, selling drugs, arson, murder are all things with a defined INTENTION to do harm. It's why Manslaughter and Murder are different things, it's why there is a charge of Intent to Commit GBH

Being naked does not have a definite intention of causing harm. Making it illegal because someone "might" intend it is no different to making it illegal for adults to be in the same room as children because they "might" harm them or illegal for people to carry bags because they "might" use them to rob somewhere or illegal to drive at all because you "might" run someone over...

I actually think it’s low key homophobic of you to conflate gay people with people who want to be naked in public in front of children.

They’re not deprived of that choice at all. For the umpteenth time it’s perfectly legal to be naked in public - much as you wish it wasn’t so.

BundleBoogie · 16/06/2025 21:54

WiddlinDiddlin · 16/06/2025 19:05

Do you not see what a slippery slope it is to make things illegal because the person doing whatever it is might be having thoughts that range from simply sexual or naughty, to actually perverted/abnormal...

We really cannot, nor should we, police peoples thoughts, or punish people for what they might do.

After all, we've all had thoughts from time to time that, if we actually did those things, they'd be illegal - and we all have access to a variety of things, equipment, body parts even, that could be used to cause others harm, extreme fear etc or otherwise break the law.

Where does it end? Rules about what length trousers or skirts you can wear in public, how low cut a top can be, banning breast feeding outdoors because you might be feeding your baby or you might be getting a kick out of making someone else feel uncomfortable...

Indecent exposure is known to be a ‘gateway’ crime that too frequently escalates into rape and/or murder.

Ensuring it is extra hard to prosecute indecent exposure by attempting to normalise men exposing their or is in public is not going to help.

I know it’s NOT. I’m saying it SHOULD be.

And in fact there is statutory safeguarding in place to prevent adults being alone in rooms with children in some circumstances - like teachers, for example. Does that mean all teachers want to molest children? Obviously not. Does it prevent the chance of that happening? Yes.

Safeguarding rules are not law and will vary significantly by situation and location.

And once again- being naked is not the same as Exposure

People (and that's ALL people) do like to just be naked and don't want people to stare.

How are you conflating someone naked on a bike with wanting to molest children?

The bike rides are organised and have been going on for years. It is not sexual. The human body is not sexual... it is just a body. No one is flashing their genitals on a bike... you barely see them as legs get in the way. You would have to be looking to really notice.
If you are really looking, then complaining, then you need to re-evaluate things in your life.

I must have missed where this Naked Charity Bike Ride was exclusive to men only...

But do carry on twisting my words to suit your narrative.

Long story short, we don't have a right not to see things that we might not like.

You claimed we have no right not to be faced with naked penises in public

Where is it stated that we have the right not to see a penis?

We have a social contract of common decency. Clearly some people don’t understand that.

It’s got nothing to do with nudity and naturism for me. It’s about defending freedom to engage in perfectly legal activities.

I saw masses of them - nearly all blokes - all riding along Piccadilly in central London a couple of years ago. TBH I found it hilarious, and evidently so did most other witnesses on the crowded pavement.

It was a very hot day so I did wonder how many of the cyclists ended up with sunburnt dangly bits.

Sunburn one side, chafed the other.
Painful.

Legal activities that make other people feel uncomfortable. Not me but other people. You do seem very dedicated to this subject.
