Should I sell some of my reborns if they make me feel bad about myself?

I have a couple of reborns that I don't play with or display. I brought them hoping that they would make me feel better that I'm not going to have children but tbh. They haven't. Infact they make me feel bad because I no longer want to be a mother anymore tbh. Sometimes I like to look at them because they are pretty but that's it that's where the land lies for me with them. They do not bring me joy. At the same time I dont want to get rid of them because they Costed me alot of money.what should I do?

Of course you should, sell them and buy something that does bring you joy

If they make you feel bad then of course you should sell them.

If they don't bring you joy any more, then sell them and maybe they will bring joy to another childless woman who is in a different place to you emotionally and will benefit from them. Maybe knowing that you have helped to bring joy to another woman will help you feel a bit better too?

Your home is supposed to be a place you can relax. If these dolls are making you feel bad, you don't need permission to get rid of them. As for the cost, the money has already gone, so you'll be in no worse a place than you are today. If you feel up to it, you could try to sell them, but if not give them to a charity shop guilt free. Think of the money as being payment towards putting your mental well being first.

The fact they cost a lot of money is the suck cost fallacy. That money is gone and is not coming back. Holding on to any item is not going to make the money come back.

These items are not making you happy or bringing them joy, so sell them and use the cash to do something which does make you happy.

You could potentially keep one if it brings you comfort however fleeting, but you could sell the rest. If selling feels wrong for whatever reason, I understand that some homes for the elderly with dementia give the women reborn dolls and they love them, perhaps donation might feel less upsetting knowing they will be put to good use x

That’s a great idea.

@depressed394 obviously they meant very much to you at one point amd I’m sorry they don’t bring you joy any longer. If you can afford it, it may make you feel better the money you spent wasn’t alll wasted and went to helping others find comfort with the dolls in an incredibly meaningful way ♥️
