Best place to buy good quality curtains please? Thank you

I have two pairs of curtains where I chose the fabric from a fabric shop (not a department store or somewhere where they sell made up curtains) and then arranged to have them made up by a person the shop recommended. Really nice curtains.

I have also just bought a pair of curtains from Dunelm. I chose the fabric and had them made up. Perfectly nice curtains but not much choice in fabrics (I wanted pink.... very little choice in pink!)

If you can - I would definitely choose the fabric in a good fabric shop and then have them made up. You get so much more choice both in fabric and in style.

I got some lovely curtains from Hilary’s and they send someone to do all the measuring up with the big books of samples at your house and give good advice about poles/rails/tie backs/matching cushions etc then they come and install them all.

Choose the fabric first - order lots of swatches from lots of websites. Then get them made up somewhere - plenty of options.

I’ve had ready made and made to measure from Dunelm (and actually ready made taken up 🤣) and they have all been good quality

Curtains are very easy to make. I’ve made several pairs. You’re just hemming a rectangle really. Not suggesting you make your own if sewing isn’t your thing, but that you shouldn’t be charged outrageous amounts by someone else to make some for you. It will be cheaper if you find someone doing it independently rather than a big company. Try asking on local FB or WhatsApp groups for recommendations. They’ll probably be able to advise on good places to buy material too.
