Swore at DH in front of pub landlord and now he’s sulking

Out for our usual Friday evening drink earlier at our local. DH remarked to the landlord that he hadn’t seen one of the usual bar staff for a couple of weeks and the Landlord told him she had left and he was recruiting a replacement.

DH said ‘can I make a suggestion? Some nice blonde totty would be well received’ and the Landlord laughed. DH followed up by saying he was being serious and that he think it would help increase custom.

I called DH an immature twat to which he took offence and he has been sulking since we got home saying I should expect that kind of language in a ‘proper drinking pub’. Am I missing something but I don’t think that excuses things?

Not sure if you’re looking for support because you’ve married a repulsive twit or if this is somehow meant to be light hearted 🤷‍♀️

I used to work in a ‘proper drinking pub’. Tell your DH he was lucky you didn’t call him a fucking arsehole, as such language is to be expected.

Also, tell him that the totty’s skin crawls every time they have to smile and laugh with some sad old git, twice their age, who think that the staff are there to be leered at. Tell him you were embarrassed by him and for him, and he was bloody disrespectful to you and the future bar staff.

If you were in a proper drinking pub and derogatory and disrespectful attitudes and language are 'to be expected' he got off lightly by only being called an immature twat and not much worse.

I've worked in some rough places and I've seen people punched for less 🤣
