To ask what you’d wear on express yourself day

My children’s’ school is having an express yourself day where they can wear their own clothes.

if you had to do this (mandatory, no option for getting out of it), what would you wear to express yourself for the day?

I'd just wear one of the normal outfits I wear to work. Unless you normally wear a uniform, or you have a preference is for a fairly out-there look which isn't allowed in your work dress code, surely you are always wearing clothes which fit with who you are?
